what is it?

Putting pins in between the cylinder walls and the rest of the block on an open deck motor to make it kinda semi-closed deck. You can also machine a plate to close the deck if you're getting really serious. Or just use a semi-closed or closed deck block in the first place.

some engines were never made closed deck.

how are the pins fixed?

Not 100% sure how its all fixed in place. If your engine builder is capable of doing it, they'll be able to tell you how it all works.

Who is TRP?

Need a reliable 500 hp @ 5000 rpm for hour long runs.

Talked to an engine builder (builds 1000 hp drag engines from ej blocks.) and he was surprised I had to do any thing with that low hp.
