are the gearbox mounts the same between 5speed and 6 speed?

not from personal experience, but i believe the newer 6speed mounts have more bolt holes (6?)

5 speed are 4 bolt with a pin on each side.

you can mate a 6speed gearbox to a 5speed engine, ignoring the extra boltholes.

feel free to correct.. its just what i've read on here previously.

6 speeds (and 5 speeds with TY754XXXXX - from 98-00 models) have 8 bolt bell housings and the others have 4. They still bolt up fine, you just dont use all the holes.

As for the gearbox mounts - they look identical, and will (and do) work. Maybe the 6 speed mount is a bit tougher though due to the extra weight of the box? (a subaru techy person could probably answer that for you).

The 5 speed gearbox subrame is also identical to the 6 speed, so everything bolts straight into a GC or Legacy.

To fit a BC5 an auto driveshaft will suit. Not sure (read don't care) about imprezas

im talking about the mount between the gearbox and the body, not between gearbox and engine
