Twin turbo question

Hey guys,

I have a mate with a blown primary turbo on his twin turbo legacy, the turbo's it is running are like vf18 and vf20 maybe? not the vf13/14 combo anyway. Not sure exactly. but anyway to the point, he is needing a new turbo for his car and stumbled across a pair of vf26 and vf27's and was wondering if these will straight bolt on, and also if this would be a bit of an upgrade?

hey i replaced my VF18 with a VF13 this is a straight swap. the VF18 and VF13 are nearly identical internaly. i think the 26 is not a straight swap. call 0800 subaru ask the parts guy they are very helpful.

Munkvy says (another GTB nut) 26 has different inlet/outlet

regardless I have a 27 as a replacement for my 19 (secondary)

and a VF31 primary (replacing VF18)

give it a go I reckon - make it work and it wont boost your power but will be a slight upgrade (newer/lighter wheels etc)

Go for a VF31 primary - straight bolt on and quite a nice turbo too really, very usable power range and an easy to dirve with turbo, well thats from my experience anyway.

Isn't the VF31 an Impreza STi turbo? Or am I mixing things up...hmm maybe thats the VF30 I'm thinking of.

My '02 GTB has VF33 primary / VF32 secondary.

Al primary turbos (with the exception of VF33) are interchangable same compressor inducer and exducer size.

All secondary turbos are interchangable (the VF14 will have its own wastegate)

Great upgrade with the VF26 and VF27 turbos.(these turbos run the 8 blade performance turbine wheels)

The VF31 and VF32 both BB turbos with same size comp and turbine wheels.The A/Rs of 11 and 18 respectively.

Power Enterprise swapped the turbine housing on the VF31 to a A/R 16 from a VF13 and generated the PE1016F.

The VF32 = PE1018F
