You want to join the army but your worried about fitnes..

I bet the army is strickter fitness than police i bet....

/quote]

Army requirements for entry, for a guy:

Run 2.4km in 12 minutes, be able to do 45 curl ups (basically a crunch) and 15 press ups

The police iiirc is significantly less rigorous than this, which is relatively low anyway if you are in any way physically active (or have a month or so to get into shape)

Slightly incorrect if you are in the age bracket 18 to 28:

Run 2,4Km inside 10:50, 150 curl ups, 30 press ups (to the correct technique)...

And yes I spent the better part of mu adult life in the military, and also as an instructor at The Army Training Group (ATG)...

Should tell the army website people they've got it wrong then ;D

Although I was referring to 'entry' fitness level as opposed to 'required' as I felt it more relevant to someone looking at applying

There is a difference between "entry" and required as you stated, the website states "entry", what I posted was the required level (RFL), and what you would need to be at come the 2nd test (in the 2nd calender week of recruit course...)

You gonna stay down south? Should be able to get posted down there easy enough.

Apparently there is like a 5 year wait list to get posted in chch.

If you want to go to Counties Manukau they will take you. Tomorrow.

seriously if you do mr swindog best of luck man!

The guys that do it: do you enjoy the job?

Id want to get into the financial crime area if i did go in, and it would be pretty good imo with my experience and quals.

do you need to go through all the beat work etc? How long till you can get promoted to a specialist dept?

19 weeks recruit course. 18 months with section (beat/patrol etc) then you can choose your group. I see they Interpol which interests me or CIB.

Im pretty keen on doing it but wifey needs to find a new job first.

My mate is in traffic. Hes been a cop 6 years is on 65K a year and just crusies around. If he did a 2 man station like in the country with another cop sharing shifts you earn bucket loads more.

I might even go army styles again and go AOS. I love those masks.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
