Standard old BE/BH manual box??

/quote]

yesum

so what do you actually repair in side them then?

I just clean all the sticky gunk out of them and reassemble it.

I have just been emailing the guy i originally got the second hand center diff off, he has a gear box, auto trans /diff specialist workshop, he says there is no way to get into them.

And he knows the kind off diff i have. He has asked that i check the numbers on my rear diff an g/box to make sure no one has been fuking with them incase there is a ratio missmatch causing issues.

So i dont know, i am sure if you cud dismantle them he would surely know. maybe we are talking about different diffs??

Weird. Or maybe he's never tried.

Next time I've got half an hour or so I'll go strip one down and snap some pics of it coming apart.

Take the circlip off, give it a few taps and all this comes out. Normally covered in black very smelly gunk.

Bugga man! i feel your pain

driving in a straight line is fine, really.... you can drive them like this for ages, you are only avoiding the $1500 to $2000 bill to fix it.

Even then, as stated make sure the dude fixing it is not a muppet, the right oil is essential!!

I think i might see if mine can go till late this year LOL when the missus goes back to work so we can afford it.

When buying BH's you really do have to go for a 20-45 min drive on the open road, warm the diff right up then do the tight turning circles, lock to lock and feel/listen for the binding.

Then if the problem is there, tell the dude youre buying the car off to drop his price by $2000.00 LOL

Its the centre diff. No need to take the box out, just drop the back housing off.

RWD will solve your problem, but you need to pull the CD out anyway to lock it up. You might as well strip it down and rebuild it.

So what is it that need replacing? front diff which is in the Gbox? so gbox needs to come out and apart? or center diff?

Will making it rwd solve my problem for now lol?

Its the center diff, and no the G-box dosent need to come out, they take the arse end of the box off to do it.

Drive shaft needs to come off too, and its a good time to do the rear diff bushes if they need it too.

i looked at doing it myself but found out rather fast youd need a pit or a hoist.

I dont know about making it a RWDs, someone here will.

yea thats true but $200 for rwd center diff & parts etc compared to $1400 for new center diff & bushes haha?

would a cause have been the new front tyres & worn down rears?

Yeah definitely. They don't like different rolling diameters.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
