New 2002 RSK B4

I've just picked up a new 2002 RSK B4. The engine is brand new and I've still got another 4800kms to go before it's run in. Everything's been dulled down to protect the engine during this period. Once I've hit that 5000kms mark what sort of boost can I run on it safely? It's got a full 3" exhaust and I won't fit a pod filter until the engine's done 5000kms.

Yeah factory everything except the full 3" exhaust. It's only done 30,000kms. I'm the first NZ owner. Apparently whoever used it in Japan put something in the fuel that buggered the engine. It's a vague story I got from the guy I bought it off who imported it. Anyway, the engine was rebuilt by Snow Mooney (If that's how his name is spelt) and I'm running it in.

Snow Mooney....i know that name! I sold my last auto gearbox to him. Seemed to know his stuff.

My question = How is it limiting the boost you can run? I dont see any provisions for that on the factory ECU

Won't it just be running on wastegate pressure?

edit: by running a short length of hose directly between the nipple on the compressor outlet and the nipple on the wastegate actuator

Assuming its still twin turbo...wouldnt that throw a load of check engine codes? Just thinking aloud here.

you say 5000km's to run in ???

g i was told engine builder no less then 10,000kms to run in :-\

and did 3 oil changes in that time with this funny oil..

sorry cant rember oil name (old age)

dont think so? For wastegate pressure?

mine run w/g pressure for ages with no fault codes

10000kms? are you sure its not 1000?

was a thread about it, 800-1000kms when the oil goes black the first time, do a change and then your away.

but if i was you id listen to my engine builder rather than some randoms over the internet

iam 110% sure motor way run in now 1yr old and done 47,000kms lol

yes did 1st change at 600km's then 3500kms and last 6500 (with that oil)
