EJ20 Ra spec motor??

Gidday peoples!

Ok so I've been looking around for a while now for a new toy so I've found a mint as 93 WRX, but the guy reckons it has a RA spec engine and gearbox in it - obviously from a RA wrx, so how do I tell if it is actually what he says? I know that with the TT's there's the different colour injectors and afm to give it away but not too sure on the wrx engines.

if its not sti then all you get is the 5th injector in the top of the manifold.

If its got the short RA box it will be doing around 3200k at the 100km point

as with the motor, get a code?? Or post some photos up so we can have a look

old ra spec engines have a different head setup allowing a higher rev limit. this goes for wrx-ra and sti-ra v1-2

look for casting marks, that at least confirms its a closed deck engine. not much else apart from the 5th injector..

have a look for the barcode sticker on the bottom of the right hand cam cover, post up the codes if its there

hmm, mine (non RA sti) sits at 3000rpm at 100. Def not 3200, but 3200rpm doesnt seem too 'short ratio' does it??? if that helps lol
