I've thought about similar projects (was a bh5 wagon with blown head gasket for 500).
I think the profit would be better just replacing like for like as cheaply as possible to sell a working car. I think 1400 is a bit high for one of these, you won't know what else needs replacing till you get it running and drive it.
Modified cars are worth no more than stock ones from what I've seen on TM.
This. Just put a efr6758 on the rally car. We wanted a turbo that was more responsive than the vf30, spooled earlier and had more top end. Ended up spooling 250rpm earlier, making 245wkw restricted and 327wkw unrestricted on 20psi and e85. Amazing turbo.
For that sort of money I'd rather buy a cheap second hand td05 16g and pay someone to build it with better wheels/modify the front cover. At least you'd know it was mint and good to go. Or buy an sti turbo that is known to be good condition, bit of a lottery nowadays.

Whats a manual conversion like on a BE? Would think it'd be easier to start with a manual one.
Technically a single turbo conversion needs a cert too, which adds some cost and complexity.
Get a 14 mm spanner . Pull on it till your fingers hurt .
Ever notice how a 14 mm spanner is bout yay long and a wheel brace is bout 3 times as long . Problem solved
