  1. No refund is not no replacement. If it’s sold new then consumer guarantees act may help.
  2. Not sure but I know some USB to serial drivers brick copied devices. Heaps of USB to serial converters from China have warnings about only using their drivers. Some official drivers spyware to detect copy devices and send back data. Other option is when the driver is installed the lights default to off. treat it as faulty and ask for another one or refund
  3. I even put my customs code on orders now. this is someone else’s order
  4. random... but has anyone or have mates ordered wiseco piston(s) from the USA to their office in Auckland. Make sure you have put your details on s*** or they get returned to sender. This happens a bit at my office and they keep forgetting to put full name or details have had to return stuff before. Since I’m the worst for ordering Subaru bits they contact me first
  5. That’s the bit that can bite you with e tune. Newer cars are closer than 10 year old cars. The wear on a car that age varies a lot. Also we have different fuel here and RON vs MON rating around the world adds issues. Even here we have multiple versions of fuel with different ethanol levels. compression test the motor before you tune it anyway. I used to make a few maps and add features to roms and it easy to load them up and compare to stock and see how much they have been changed. You should be able to understand the changes since definition files do all the hard work.
  6. Seems worth it given the price for the DIY version. Does Subaru change the routing on later models? Seems strange they wouldn’t of it was an issue. It’s the old absence of evidence, isn’t the same as evidence of absence.
  7. Well that went downhill fast. On back order 🤬 and no ETA so guess plan to assemble sometime next month is out. Back to thinking about pinning the mains and reboring the mains.
  8. Subtech are fine for mechanical work. My car has been there a few times. They are not a tuner cobb is a tactrix cable and ECUedit software replacement after that’s it’s still a e-tune. That helps them sell their own parts. I got about 15% more power from downpipe and tune.
  9. Downpipe and PBMS tune is easy. It’s what I started with.
  10. Read the discussion around page 48 +- a few pages. Lots of good stuff 🤔
  11. Alloy arms flex less but in low speed crashes like hitting a curb at 20khp+ they won’t buckle and transfer the impact to the subframes. Seen it with evo swaps as well. Partsouq the bolt and whiteline bearings. Call whiteline and talk to them they like most Motorsport place are friendly.
  12. But if the bush is the same size keep the arms and get spherical bearings and new bolts/studs. the arms maybe longer and either have wicked camber or if corrected make the wheels stick out.
  13. The pre facelift STi some had rubber from factory. Think 09 maybe some had the bearings. Anyway mine had rubber and torn to s*** so I have the bottom ones. Lists WRX and STi so same size https://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=KCA334 lists only STi but says WRX as well in description https://www.whiteline.com.au/product_detail4.php?part_number=KCA425M
  14. They make spherical bearings for just this reason. If there is sideways play in it, loaded or not replace it.
  15. Well labour day sales in the 🇺🇸 so ordered some wiseco boostline rods. Waiting for the customs bill now.
  16. Now we know why you sound deadened the car. Should’ve gone with the sedan, the boot seals. Would’ve saved you $$$
  17. Ordered it some 2000hp boostline rods. Nothing like overkill 😈 or “over engineering” if you want the PC 🤬version
  18. If you do make a second one use some nut inserts or there are cheaper ones that hammer in from the back. https://www.amazon.com/Nut-Inserts/b?node=16410011 Plus through some bracing through the middle. If you are being super accurate then add it’s volume to the box size. Also ratchet straps are good for clamping things while waiting for glue to dry. Though usually when you have 45 degree cuts to join.
  19. 6x9 are average at best. Get a good 8-10” and some 5-6” mids. 6x9 in are box are better than parcel shelf if you have a big sub in the boot. Paper is fine for speakers depends on how it is treated, though they don’t age well as they often have foam surrounding. Tiny magnets can be great try alpine high end stuff not the R ones but F1, X or DDdrive Bigger magnets are a sales or heavyweight cone and high power for dB thing. Plus it’s sometimes a trick and lower power magnets. If you want to get geeky try Morel and hexagonal wire in the coils to reduce wasted space.
  20. Already have a new top mount one just sitting here. Id anyone is interested I’m not sure I need it.
  21. the human eye doesn’t focus/perceive blue light that well so why bother.
  22. I found the Philips + whatever bulbs lasted for longer than I owned the car.
  23. Ok haven’t spent much time around the car and build lately but repost from the 500kw build. Kind of want it done mid October or I’ll run into other things I need to get sorted. Wiseco boostline rods are top of list, as well triangles are structurally awesome (without the O) Plus rated to 2000hp so no chance they will bend or break. RCM 12/14mm studs means no head modification and just tapping the block out. Since that is the only soft metal there is no reason to go 14mm as s99 steel should not stretch unless the engine s***s itself. I was going ARP but the prices are way too high for the 11mm let alone anything bigger. More I’ve seen from overseas that pinning and line honing the crank journals is a must. EFR7163 is here and needs to be ceramic coated then heat wrapped in alloy ceramic alloy sandwich heat shield. Has the dual port turbosmart wastegate actuator all fitted. GFB makes a vent to atmosphere valve for the EFR now so can keep the pssh noises. Thinking to that I will keep the EFR boost solenoid. Exhaust needs a bit or work still to make it straight through not quad tipped. Even though it is titanium smaller AdrenalinR one naught sound better. Luckly I don’t have to drive to work as that pitch stop still sounds like s*** vibrating the firewall. Intercooler is still a big unknown. Really want to go water cooler and no bonnet scoop 😱🤬 yes yes, special place in hell awaits I know.
