Its a bit grey that, there was talk of if you have to cut the bumper you needed it certed. I asked the guy I went to as I did cut some metal and he said it was fine if you have no sensors at the front of the car and if you do just dont cut metal.
I have used the M&H ones from STA and found them good, I know Optical found a leaking one but I have maybe 15 on my setup and they are all good.
+1000000 on the good hose tho, its easier to use, its easier to cut, it fits in the fittings and wont pop off and explode under more than 2psi.
Personally Id never reuse head bolts they are torque to yeild, ARP studs yes not std bolts (they are cheap as chips anyway).
Ive used the std metal gaskets and cometics, they both seem ok. The STI ones have a crush ring on them whereas the cometics I used this time dont.
Bit of a hijack but I have a good condition RSB rack if you want it???
I managed to find a 2.25 v-limited rack and the lines were a mission to get to fit at the rack (did find out later that some of the v5-6 ones have the fittings rotated round towards the engine)
easy as to swap to a good one, that will be enough Im sure. Undo the bolts and remove the circlip on the other end. Just reverse all that to put the new one on. Might be easier with the turbo off but Im sure you can do it on the engine.
I have a spare if you cant get a good one.
Qwerty is meaning that you will need a bigger exhaust not uppipe to lessen the back pressure after the turbo. Larger uppipe will lead to more lag especially if its not the restriction in the first place.
Is it not more about the spring rate in the actuator of the internal gate? Most factory ones are between .5 and .7 bar and you are just pushing them too far when you up the boost to say 1.4 bar thats why so many turn to externals as its easy to put a 1 bar or larger spring in and run solid boost, if you could do the same with your internal.......same thing happens.
I have a td05 with the bigger 18g compressor wheel for sale, would need a 3" intake tho so not completely bolt on.
Td06 on a 2.0 is a waste of time, will take so long to spool that the td05 will make for a faster car on the street. There are bolt on garrett turbos available overseas tho or just upgrading the td05 like my one.
Sup everyone, yet another courier thread lol.
Anyone going to aux in the next few weeks? have some exhaust stuff that Drunkenmonkey is keen on and want to keep the shipping cost down for him. He isnt able to pay straight away so probly need someone in say 2-4 weeks as a stab in the dark.
Easiest way is to run the 2 rails with Regs, the factory reg is more than capable unless you need to up pressure to make up for lack of injector flow.
2 rails that fit your manifold and injectors will be fine, all the regs are the same pressure and as far as Ive seen the rails are all the same ID so no prob mix and matching.
