  1. OK, so when I first got my 99 wrx (4pot fronts), it had elcheapo pads as my mates 2006 legacy with 2pots and oem pads could stop 2 mtrs shorter. No mistako sorryo
  2. Put it on at your own risk, was it damaged when installed the first time?, is it going to snap?when am I going to win lotto?Who knows whats going to happen.
  3. If you are going to put on 4 pots, then go buy crap pads from supercheap, they will be no better than standard 2 pots with oem pads.
  4. For normal street use they dont offer any better braking, the only thing they will break is your wallet when you need to replace the pads.
  5. Yep, and pigs can fly. This is how insurance companys work, they make it sound so easy if anything goes wrong, but once it does its like like trying to break through a concrete wall 2m thick with a paperclip.
  6. I would buy genuine, your supercheap deal wont look so cheap if something breaks/snaps.(If your supercheap kit comes with a bosch belt, dont touch it)
  7. Who changed the plug leads?, just asking as this engine uses coil packs!.Its possible you might have a dodgy transmission selector switch.I had a WRX (manual) which came up with a misfire code, but it was a dodgy reverse switch if I remember?
  8. Its the nature of this model, fast accleration followed by hard braking, its how some people like to drive it, or its hard not to drive like this ;D
  9. Threads will get damaged if you use the nut on method, even though they might still look fine, using heat not good, you will weaken the steel structure if you go over 140c.Use a press, even if you have to take it to a garage and pay.
  10. Most under read by 5-7 kmh, and those speed indicator signs can vary up to 10kmh with the weather.
  11. You'll get used to it, If you change to a softer setup you'll be back on here complaining it now handles like shit.
  12. If it does it when going up a hill, could be a fuel pick up issue, might need to pull the fuel pump and have a look whats going on .
  13. I think if you want it quite low you have to also shorten the shock shaft.
  14. I have a 04 GTB, I run 95 with no problems.I ran 98 and there was no difference(except to the wallet!).I did find that I got best fuel eco with caltex 95
  15. Wrapping header pipes is good for a couple of HP, as the gases flow a bit faster due to the extra heat in the pipe, however the extra heat will also degrade the pipes a bit quicker.
  16. They want $1400 because a new unit from subaru is $2800 (last time I checked).I would get a price on a repair
  17. I hope you have at least third party FIRE and theft insurance.
  18. Just go with OEM, they are a bit over priced at $140+ a set, but they dont throw out clouds of dust and they work well, and a lot of after market stuff dont have the same pad area as OEM.
  19. you can buy off ebay, $20 delivered from usa

    Laser Jammers illegal

So does that mean if you park your car in front of either a camera van, or a copper using a hand held so you are blocking them you can be snapped?
  21. Who stocks it now?, been to supercheap they have multitrax and nulon synthetic, repco dont seam to stock it anymore.
  22. After a few calls to some people who know subarus, A 2007-2009 legacy single mass flywheel can be used, but you have to use a 2007-2009 clutch as well. Also use the later flywheel bolts. This is usefull info for people with a 2004 - 2006 manual legacy who will need to replace the flywheel and clutch, which can F%$K out as little as 100,000kms.
  23. I have a feeling the clutch and flywheel will need replacing in my 2004 legacy. The flywheels in 2004-2006 are dual mass type, which cant be repaired if they are worn out.I was hopeing someone on here knows if I can use a single mass type off a different year legacy?, as the cost of a new dual mass is $1350 from subaru!
