  1. No I don't know how Al dialled them in. Chris Wall tuned it.
  2. 307kw @ 23 psi. Apparently no smoke has been seen or smelt so hopefully it will be all good. I will wait until I have seen the oil level before being super happy though.
  3. I've been GPS stalking the car and it's been out for a road tune by the looks of it. I hurt my back in the weekend though so probably won't be able to pick it up today if it's ready
  4. There needs to be more education around what wheel styles and sizes are acceptable on an STi. Apart from being ugly the ride quality and handling is going to be S***. Maybe as a club we can lead the way for a better future.
  5. Some goods tunes on the concert programme.
  6. He hasn't finished yet, so I still don't know anything! I'm guessing it'll make plenty of power and go really well... but will it still be using a tonne of oil is the question.
  7. Very ambitious for an amateur, well done.
  8. It's been on the dyno today... needed some work on the exhaust manifold first which was done earlier in the week. Only problem I have heard so far is that the boost control solenoid wasn't working properly but that was replaced... Fingers crossed for no more bad news or set backs.
  9. Actually looking at tm it may not be that expensive... seems they don't really hold their value that well at 10 years old. I bet that one will go for between 20 and 25k. It would make a very nice fast road car, way way WAY nicer than a WRX.
  10. hmm, way too cheap isn't it? oh, reserve not met.
  11. A well measured lack of intelligence went into my reply.
  12. the rear diff is the correct place to jack the rear of the car... use a piece or wood or rubber on the jack of course, and I wouldn't recommend leaving it jacked on the diff for too long as two rubber bushes are what are actually holding the weight of the car.
  13. Also, this a Subaru Owners and Enthusiasts forum... not: a Subaru Evangelist forum, a Subaru Salesman forum a Subaru Fanatics forum a Subaru Pimps forum. Maybe you are one of the above?
  14. Totally disagree. The guy primarily wants to race on a budget. The advice he is getting is good. I love Subarus but the fact of life is that they cost the F***ing earth to race. End of story.
  15. Took it in to get tuned... still needs the up pipe fixed and some wiring fixes, but I am hoping Chris will organise everything and I won't have to take the car back until it's completely fixed. I am so over F***ing around with it now.
  16. solid end links and poly bushes will make the response of the rear bar sharper and also increase the effect bar rate as the plastic end links stretch a lot.
  17. Even with the 03 being heavier, you couldn't go to a 24mm rear bar without upgrading the front as well. I had a 24mm rear and 22m front bar on my last wrx... the rear bar was so stiff that with one side of the car jacked up so that the rear wheel was off the ground the opposite strut would be at full droop.
  18. 24mm is already big and capable of snapping the factory mounts and end links. 24mm is also big enough to quite noticeably reduce the independence of each wheel's movement... Though solid end links probably have a lot to do with that. I recommend you stick to a 22mm bar.... Though my experience is only with a lighter gc8... And the Rex on rails article also only deals with the gc8.
  19. It might be... but Port Rd has been full for about a week already. The reserve list is probably really long as well
  20. hmm, take the corners as fast as possible... personally I lose the most time entering the Alley, I alway try to stay in 3rd, but often chicken out and brake too much. Actually I quiet often over cook the first barrel as well.
  21. It's been how many years since you entered port rd? Pretty sure you will do better... just don't listen to Geoff's advice this time
  22. Some guy from here taking it for a test drive means nothing. Get a comprehensive mechanical check. Cars can go very well even when they are rooted.
