  1. Faster and better on gas. Sounds like a melt down ready to happen. My guess is as suggested, a failing wastegate
  2. I can only imagine what he thinks about yours.
  3. the limit last time i checked was 95. has it been lowered?
  4. Dont worry bro. while im flick\'n switches getting people bowing down to me.. you guys a blowing, hg\'s, engines, gearboxes, and clutches just to get your respect :P Theres alot of halfpied crappy built bagged rides out there that ruin it for the rest, just like the beat down STI\'s converted from rexs you see around with bumpers hanging off and a full load of dudes with hoodies on in the car, haha possibly one of the stupidest things I have ever read on the internet. congratulations
  5. any one who thinks trademe are raking in unjustified profits on fees, should purchase shares in the company, it is publicly listed now. personally i find it easy to use and i get reasonable penetration rates on sales, so i\'m not fussed
  6. Fit fiberglass bumper. Man I hate fiberglass. Whole thing is an inch too wide, makes it stick out and create a gap. Will be fun to sort out. Started prepping other panels for respray of car number two
  7. a massively high peak torque rpm can be a result of cams and exhaust housing. whether or not it's a problem for power delivery is only relevant when considered against torque throught the entire range. with a 400nm peak it could very well be (unlikely) 380nm at 2000rpm, or on the flipside 150nm at 5000rpm i think funky means the peak torque rpm (as opposed to peak torque itself) will plummet once you sort wastegate out. i would agree. i imagine the torque at 6000rpm won't change, but it should increase beyond that at 4500 (unless cams are a bigger factor for high rpm)
  8. and a power band from 7000rpm to 8000rpm street car = don't mess with the cams, you'll ruin it race car = spec the cams for the turbo and application mention of a one off rpm position peak torque and power means nothing. RMS makes a car fast. haven't seen the dyno plot yet so there's nothing to judge* how it is actually performing *for interests sake only. i'm sure you're just happy to have it going and going well, especially with more gusto than 95% of all other cars on the road
  9. It's the color dude. I reckon spend a grand on repainting it to stock color and it will not only sell, but probably increase the value 2 grand [quote name='clintondane said: 398nM, I'd have thought that figure woulda been way higher? Stock Legacy GT's make 343nM don't they? you're comparing flywheel torque to wheel torque. drivetrain loss calculation, same as the 20-25% for peak power.... so 500nm at flywheel
  10. archers road panel and paint. good mates of mine. have painted heeeaaapps of shit for me
  11. 3500 sounds ok for full p&p with body kit install which in itself can take 4-6 hours to do well depending on the kit. That will be making at least 100 an hour on that. Paint itself is bugger all of what you get billed for so shouldn't make much difference to the price, unless they're trying to get more money out of you
  12. hope that at least included heaps of panel beating and prep
  13. Very open ended question. Do you mean touch ups with a pencil brush or do you mean repainted to perfection? If repainted, how many different panels, and is it dented?
  14. Fitted spoiler, removed old bumper ready to fit new bumper tomorrow. Will be picking up and fitting new guards tomorrow too. Going to paint the whole car again in two weeks.
  15. argo I beam what I used, didn't care about price
  16. it's currently for sale ;D I decided to make the exterior look less boy-racery. keep getting munter offers for crappy cars so figure some one who has the cash has a more "mature" taste. like myself really...i haven't changed the look in 3-4 years, and my tastes are vastly different now. probably the reason i only ever drive it once a month and usually only for the purposes of keeping the oily parts wet
  17. swapped the custom alloy bonnet for a standard alloy bonnet, minus the scoop at the moment! just picked up the v5/6 wing, bumper and gaurds will be back to standard soon too. the bumper will be white, and maybe the gaurds too, so for a short period of time, the front third will be entirely white, awesome
  18. what's different from the last time? you got around 240kw before yeh? what you expecting now?
  19. what a stupid question. doesn't surprise me you got stupid answers. the question you should have asked "i'm not happy with the sound of my factory exhaust and want the awesome sounding subaru rumble" I would answer: Get the full kit from Redline performance. It performs well, sounds fantastic, and is really well priced. If you don't want to swap the whole exhaust, any aftermarket muffler will do what you want
  20. I disagree. Although my clubby is the previous generation, I love the way it handles and feels on the road. Like any factory car, it just needed a push in the right direction with good shocks and springs. The factory brakes are awesome too, not really much need to change them.
  21. wide wheels with wide tyres? that's so uncool. you need to put 215's on it
