  1. What about the inverted plates? Aka black background, white lettering. Didn't think they were legal unless the car originally had then. Seen a few blacked out Holdens running them lately

All the good stuffs been edited out now. Would ask why the mitsi guy felt the need to chase him down in such a manner that the cops needed to be involved. He was obviously driving like a maniac in an attempt to get away that had the cops concerned for the safety of others. But do we really want to be getting into this kinda crap on here
  3. Do you have manual or auto? Also 2.5L or the 2.0L?
  4. Bit short of cash at the moment, might have to pass on this bargain of the century
  5. Yea as joker said. Its on the passenger side aka left hand side. Thats a pic of a US example.
  6. Incase you're still looking somewhere else its under that steel plate. So need to pull the carpet back to get there.

Do you ever think before you type? So you smash your car up a few weeks ago, and now get into a chase with police. Sort your life out man
  8. The ecu seems like such a weird thing to bother ripping out, fair bit of effort getting in there. Surely they're worth f all really.
  9. How cheap is it? Super cheap? Probably been thrashed like most stolen cars tend to be so could have engine issues to go along with it. Defi gauges in no way can be a replacement for the ecu. Just to be sure are you actually meaning the ecu, as in the main computer under the passenger footwell or are you by any chance referring to the dash cluster with the speedo, rev counter and all that?
  10. Yea they do share the same fluid as the gearbox
  11. Flyboys's got a 6mt Will the 5 lower make much difference? Unless you're deep south is NZ really cold enough to make all that much difference? http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/CastrolRetailNzl/ I used that. Use 07-08 2.5gt though as thats the only way to get the 6mt selection.
  12. For my 6mt if i remember rightly i used the castrol universal 80w-90. Wanted syntrax but could only get it in 1L containers so was going to cost a crazy amount. Need a torx t70 for one of the drains if its a 6mt
  13. You'd be foolish to think markups like that don't exist everywhere. At my job we vary the percentage based on particular price groups. Things less than $100 generally get a 100% markup. In my line of work people get real *****y about hours and hourly rate so there's virtually no profit made in time so most of the profit comes from product markup. You could have gone down the road and they could have given you a mint deal on parts but absolutly reamed you on hours and ended up with the same grand total. At this point just suck it up and get a clear breakdown on expected prices before getting the work done next time.
  14. Why not just get a OTG cable from amazon or fleabay? Def files is definately the biggest problem for import cars like ours. Bit of a hit or miss whether someone's made the file or not.
  15. Thats what i was thinking but he's got an auto based from his other problem post which describes gearbox woes, so probably related.
  16. Also remember to keep some serious coin in the bank incase you do get in an accident. Wrote mine and another off when i was 17 and they wanted north of 1500 just for the excess. Managed to somehow get it knocked down to 1000, guy at the other end must've been having a real beaut of a day to consider that one. Still is hard to muster up that much at that age.
  17. In the process of trying to gather all the parts myself. Usefull list there of everything you need for the complete job. Process varies quite a bit based on whether you use the tablet alongside the stock stereo or an aftermarket one http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=21888
  18. That shouldn't happen. The cars gearing dictates what rpm you'll be at at 100kph not engine mods.
  19. correct. Same as the right one here. The left one is a semi closed since it has a few support joins and the right one is closed deck
  20. Being an 07 yours is a facelift isn't it? If so then there's not a chance without changing fenders and other bits, so not cheap. Or are you thinking of adding halo's to your current ones?
  21. Interesting read for those of you going for aftermarket intakes without getting a retune or any safety logs done. Sure it doesn't apply to all situations but better safe than sorry. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/tech-post-why-intakes-need-retune-p5216666.html#post5216666
  22. Threw myself in the deep end with this one but got there in the end. Just have to work out if there's any cabin adjustment for the handbrake since it's still pretty tight with the adjusters at the wheels wound the whole way in.
  23. Came out pretty easily in the end. Couple of whacks from the hammer and a piece of wood and they both came free. Yea greasing everything i think i might end up pulling apart one day. Your hub swap how to was bloody brilliant too. Took most of the guess work out of it
