  1. Would have to be pretty confident in what you're doing to start enlarging the wastegate hole, woud be too worried i'd end up going to far myself. Rev d is the last one for jdm/nz. And yea tunable. They would be 26/27 i believe. My rev c had 31/32. Seem to be a few 2003's around, not many though. Think the last year or so models came stock with 4/2pots rather than 2/1. Read that somewhere a while back.
  2. Will have lots of overboosty anti-goodness with them removed and no tune to fix it
  3. Changeover is purely for rpm, doesn't know what gear you're in. I used to set it about 400rpm higher than stock. Mainly because i used to end up changing down into the dead zone when giving it a bit of a rev which just killed all the fun
  4. Installs easy if you have the wiring diagram which most probably don't. Here it is if you haven't already found it http://download.robson-brown.co.uk/uklegacy/zerosport/index.html IMHO they don't do that much to the VOD. It was only really good for moving it further up the rev range which made it slightly smaller and out of a region that could be shifted into. The vacuum line mods marky and rosssub came up with are far better and cost virtually nothing.
  5. Restricted parts i believe so even dealers aren't allowed/can't order them unless you can give a genuine vin number for a s401. Thats the case with US dealers atleast, not sure how relaxed NZ ones are. Edit: Here's a full list of s401 parts. Restricted ones can only be purchased using a genuine vin number if going through regular sources. http://sl-i.net/FORUM/showthread.php?18983-Legacy-S401-Parts-List
  6. Really want some 235/40 re003's for mine but know its gonna be niggly
  7. Has it had the cambelt done? Mine was imported at 115k km and hadn't been done which is pretty typical for imports. Put 5w30 castrol edge in mine, hadn't heard about w40 being an issue. Is that the avcs itself that doesn't like it or is there just more of a pressure drop across the banjo filters?
  8. Brembo's fit on both, with the same adaptor for the rears used so the spacing is the same. Only thing would be fitment under stock 17's as the rotors 316mm instead of 294mm heaps of space with the 4th gen 18's so doubt it'd be a problem. Few US guys have done it but can't find anyone that has actually documented the swap with stock wheels.
  9. Hey knockout have you ever tried fully packing the car out with a **** load of weight? Always wondered how close the rims would be to rubbing if it was sagging down that low. Stock 18inch rims are 18x7 + 55 Sti pink springs are one of the common ones to use when keeping stock struts, supposed to lower the car about 15mm for front and rear. But like soba said need to find the right ones or it'll end up uneven. Doing pretty much all that stuff to mine in about a month when the rims finally arrive, been a long painfull wait. Got my brembo's off a wrecked tbsti legacy that had the brembo backing plates so no rear adaptors needed, and no weird conversion rotors until the ones that came with it wear out. Doing it that way saves on needing a cert. don't come up on trademe often though. From a purely performance standpoint the spec b brakes with upgraded pads, lines, fluid and rotors gets almost brembo rivalling performance for alot less hassle.
  10. Not sure whether dtech did most of this or just the engine but they probably have more knowledge than most in nz. ****loads of expensive custom work is needed. Pretty extreme example that one though https://m.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=667286453326838&id=106882592700563 Pretty sweet twin turbo aussie one. http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=21069 If sticking with low psi and stock internals wouldn't an intercooled supercharger be easier and a truckload cheaper. Well documented results so you're not the one paying the big money for all the experimental work.
  11. Would those large top facing nipples make installing it without removing the intake manifold impossible?
  12. Unrelated but mine has a blue screen pop up randomly during long trips, never up long enough to get a pic though sadly
  13. http://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/us_b12/type_5/body_equipment_exterior/front_bumper/ 10 and 14 on there are the ones you're after i believe.
  14. In reality what are the chances that he is so commonly sitting at 190km and that it only stays up for a few seconds. It certainly is a rare error but it definately is documented a few times elsewhere on the net. Considering how common it is these clocks fail it is still probable that there is a cracked solder joint somewhere in it. http://www.justanswer.com/subaru/3wmpv-2008-subaru-legacy-fuse-controls-temperature-reading.html http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/means-ign-trouble-code-dashboard-display-105310.html http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/66-problems-maintenance/73722-error-code.html#/forumsite/20514/topics/73722 Post 25 http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/69-audio-video-security-navigation/51567-security-light-permanently.html#/forumsite/20514/topics/51567?postid=510822 Looks like it is an open circuit somewhere in the ingition power circuit from reading all that
  15. Searching for ign clock error is pretty vague but voltage issues seems to be the common answer people are geliven when asking. How olds the battery
  16. Based on what ross was saying a few weeks back they don't use the o2 until up to a set temp so definately wouldn't be part of an issue only occuring during the first 30 seconds of use.
  17. Don't fully agree on handling, My BP has a hell of alot more body roll than the BE ever had but atleast the BP has some steering feedback, the BE was just way too light and didn't give all that much back
  18. Vaguely remember there being something about rev c and older not supporting those kind of dongles. Looked into it when i had my rev c and the story was they had the obd2 socket under the dash but it wasn't a full obd2 supported system so certain things could be done but not most. That was the reason i went for a cable adaptor to laptop rather than bluetooth one. It supported obd and obd2 so it worked fine.
  19. Try your local wreckers, surely you can find a full set even if it isn't what you have now. Not hard to change them all. Whats the deal with the speakers. Have they upgraded one side or is one supposed to be a sub or something?
  20. http://www.cars101.com/subaru/maintenance-2015.html Thats a 2015 service schedule so probably pretty similar to yours Says inspect every 2.5yrs but without a dipstick you probably wouldn't have a clue what to look for. So being just out of warranty its a nz new model i'm assuming? Service history with it?
  21. Not basic maintenance atleast. Afm was always the first suggestion and sometimes fixes it but other times not. Marky had it back in the day and ended up changing pretty much everything replaceable to get rid of it i believe. Are you taking it easy or driving pretty aggressive when this happens?
  22. Guy on liberty.asn.au rocking a crazy 400kw with grb quads. Was originally a x/y but was swapped out for a 207. Is onto it with the tuning side aswell and is pretty good answering peoples obscure questions too
