  1. So basically just this then?
  2. Most those Genome's have an inlet closer to 2.2inch ID on the flange then get larger to 2.5 just after. build quality on them might be up there but that restriction is real.
  3. Sounded real clean. This is the only audio i have of it.
  4. What size you after, 3in? I've still got this --> http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/showthread.php?47900-FS-Leftover-bits-n-Bobs-AdrenalinR-Muffler-silicone-joiners-etc-Auckland Considering using it for another idea i have but will part with it if your keen.
  5. Mine used to ping real bad in the heat of summer and humidity. i ran a EBC and limited boost at times cause it was that bad. on a nice winters night with 98 it would run like a dream. get it tuned, will not only run so much better but be more reliable.
  6. I have mine setup as below with PCV valve still plumbed in etc. Seen many ditch and blank the PCV plug and run a single can. The above setup works well. including the PCV and keeping the factory breather recirc flow but cans to collect gunk appears to promote better breathing but at the end of the day most setups if configured correctly are going to be fine imo.
  7. Well! This looks promising.. haha so much jelly I've seen this over on subyclub a while ago. looking real nice man
  8. Haha all good, might grab the next one after work if i remember
  9. Im sure Dave and Tony at DTech have all the cables and will just plug in and go ohh yea ok cool job done. they seem like onto it chaps. also they have a week so they can just deal with it haha Who have you got in mind for your tune when the day comes? Tauranga is a bit of a hike but they have been pretty helpful for me and flexible on booking time etc
  10. So should i be cancelling my appointment with DTech and coming to see you then? disable differential pressure sensor and all that junk and dial in some boost. Job done haha. Nah but seriously mint work this is comforting as its something even DTech was not sure about, if the standard ECU will take changes like this so its good to see that its all doable and hopefully DTech will be able to just plugin and work their magic. Keep the info coming!
  11. Castrol Edge 5w30 http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/showthread.php?45968-What-engine-oil-to-use&highlight=castrolU Can also use Ryco Z495 oil filter http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/showthread.php?46430-Oil-Filter-Z495-or-Z79X-BH5-D-GTB&highlight=z495

  13. on the left is the rocker cover content "only emptied once since last oil change" maybe 4000 odd kms on the right is the crank case which i emptied out maybe 1000kms ago, not that much. Also its mostly water, below pic shows oil and water separation better. the main question is, is all that water actually coming from inside the rocker covers and what not or am i building up condensation in the cans. The setup im running is purposely like it so it creates vacuum and draws all the fumes and what blow by there is out of the breathing areas during boost “exactly how Subaru designed it from the factory” only difference is it vents the air and not all the filth back to intake. Checked the intake and mani and it’s all dry as a bone and clean. Car is fine, engine is fine im happy with the results not stressed just interested to know what others are getting with diferent setups and possibly looking at having a play around with different ideas.
  14. Yea, its mostly water i think. Possibly having a closed loop breather provokes moister and condensation build up. still not convinced its ideal
  15. Soo generally speaking im pretty happy with my catch can setup and how its funtioning. I've emptied my crank case breather can twice in the last 3000-4000 or so km's as its just come up maybe 1/3rd of the way up the sight pipe on the side of the catch can. I've emptied the rocker cover can once. Catch can setup is like this. And what comes out is a mostly watery oily gunk, the crank case can is more oily "the one on the right". Soo anyway, im fairly happy with whats coming out but am interested to see what others get and if its similar?
  16. Good stuff, easy but exploratory locations are good imo. keeps it rolling
  17. I stripped mine down when i did my conversion and with 177,000km on the clock it had questionable heads and semi glazed bores. I gave the bores a little tickle up with a hone and replaced all the rings along with completely rebuilt heads. Didn’t do the BEB as they appeared to be fine and splitting the block was one step further than I was prepared to go. If the engine is going to be out and you’re removing heads to do head gaskets id throw in a set of rings while you’re in there. They are cheap and not hard to replace. Also timing belt etc should be done if it’s not already new. that all being said if you have plans to go to a v7+ sti block then maybe just do the conversion and enjoy it while it lasts who knows.
  18. Yea there decent i think, cant complain for $70ish landed.
  19. I just got this for mine http://www.ebay.com/itm/STi-SILICONE-RADIATOR-HOSE-FOR-SUBARU-Impreza-WRX-GDA-GDB-NEW-AGE-02-07-BL-/311413395412?hash=item4881af4fd4 Did everything i needed Ruby-the-BE5
