  1. The 2.5 towbar? Genuine ones are all the same rating. The only changes are tongue length and height for Outback, wagon and sedan.
  2. S*** happens. Ride along with progress or get left behind basically. There's F*** all we can do about it. It's just how the global car industry is going.
  3. Dual mass flywheel? Not many places can machine them as they need disassembly. DMFs are normally goosed by the time the clutch is worn too, and need replacement. Usually way cheaper to get a DMF solid replacement kit.
  4. And chances are they will knock like a F***ed Bilstein.... We won't fit second-hand ones at work, been burned too many times. New or reco only now.
  5. Price up new ones then. That's a good price. Bear in mind he can change the valving to be firmer or softer for you if you want.
  6. Chris is good, he used to work for Autolign doing Bilstein rebuilds.
  7. 03 being the last of the twin turbo or the first of the single turbo twin scroll?
  8. Repco can get Aerpro stuff. Worth a phone call?
  9. Ask for trade and say you work at some random garage. I thought there was a list, but I guess there's nothing stopping dealers charging more.
  10. Yeah NZ new. Removed to fit a unit with Android Auto and reverse camera input. I'm in Waiuku.
  11. I'm not aware of NZ new having security codes on radios. Maybe have CAN communication with BCM? Where are you? I've not long had the factory radio out of the Mrs BM9 if you want to try that?
  12. That IS genuine Subaru prices..... For years now, cam belt kits are $345 plus or $395 plus, depending on the kit, and waterpump kits are $99 plus.
  13. Anything is possible. How long was it sitting in the gas station tanks before you pumped it over? You'll never know.
  14. Or order a waterpump kit locally. Pump, gasket, thermostat and o-ring for NZ $99 plus gst..... Hitting start/stop button while in neutral will shut off engine but leave accessory on.
  15. I have no idea who he is, and don't care enough to google it. All I can say is his interviewing style and mannerisms make me cringe.
  16. Yes it's that simple. Enjoy. Partsouq price is often cheaper than dealer cost, so full retail plus labour plus gst, 350 would be pretty close.
  17. Chain drive to the front, interesting.... That interviewer though, anyone else find him awkward as hell?
  18. I have Zetums on my BL 3.0R, seem fine, and there's TZ700s on the Mrs BM 2.5, again seem fine, and quiet on the chip seal.
  19. Nope, just rear O2 and P0420 delete, and speed cut raised, for the track of course.
  20. And always track km per litre, not km per dollar. The price changes and F***s with your stats. My 3.0R manual sedan will do 600 to 750k per 64L tank, depending on the right boot.
  21. Usually the 'see dealer' things require the diagnostic tool.
  22. Not in things that early. If anything it will be the Pxxxx equivalent of our mate code 66. From memory, overboost on the primary turbo stems from carboned up restrictor pills.
  23. I was more aiming at odd, being different to standard Subaru 2 and 4 pot calipers.
  24. Replaced the clutch on my BL 3.0R. AFAIK it was the original clutch, done 243k. Now features a V11 STi clutch that's done a season of track racing, but looked near mint and only cost me a box. For that price I'll take the risk! Didn't even machine the flywheel because no places were open. It drives mint, bites well with no shudder! Oh and a temporary permanent fix for the sloppy shifter bushes with electrical tape.......
