I have been installing a hydraulic handbrake for the last couple of weeks... took a week and many attempts to bleed it... still doesn't work. Very annoying. Either it still has air in the system though the foot brake feels completely normal... or I got the wrong size master cylinders, too big. It's a twin cylinder unit in order to keep the diagonal redundancy.

I think the average Subaru mechanic would have better dreams than a basic rebuild of a retard's car who doesn't want to spend any money fixing it.

I don't think it's the firewall flex as the sponginess is present even when lightly pressing the brake pedal... and there is always quite a bit of travel before it firms up. Compared to my BP5 pedal that is rock solid an practically no travel at all. Could be related to the relative work done by mechanical leverage verses the booster?

Put the front bit back on... it takes cold air from a high pressure zone and feeds it intake the factory airbox. Pretty good system.

Just checked my spare and current 4 port master cylinders, and they are both 1 1/16 inch. Both v5/6 Type R.

The whiteline units are extremely expensive for what they are... but bnt have much cheaper versions... you just need to put better bushes in them from what I hear. And then the weak point becomes the arb mount.

I only think about finishing my car in terms of "finished for now until I have some more money".

You can use any links that fit... the dog bone style might be a down grade though, because they have play. Why are you changing them?

Pedal feel is hugely affected by the pads...give racebrakes a ring to discuss before changing the cylinder.

Maybe try some more aggressive pads?
