  1. That's a feature on some aftermarket ones only. Need an amp designed to be bridged. Likely blow the OEM amp unless it's a designed to handle it.
  2. I think if you have a factory sub you may have to put the convertor connections to that or you may not get any bass.
  3. What @Andy_Mac said... Which factory setup do you have? also what sub and amp are you trying to run, as some have the speaker level inputs already. Local jaycar stores could have the converters... results are mixed no matter what brand you use, sometimes they are great other times you get noise or the stereo thinks there's an amp fault. https://www.jaycar.co.nz/speaker-high-level-to-line-level-converter/p/AA0482
  4. Does the gear shifter from the v10 6 speed fit the v11 chassis? the whole assembly that bolts to the car, not just the shifter shaft and pivot. I know the gearboxes are the same mounting and shifter pattern.
  5. Porting the code for a newer model isnt an uncommon way to get new features. some of those tuner roms have limp mode or other areas removed to make space for the extra code though. i haven't done dev in years and last time it was only launch control which is one of the basic features just needs a few jumps and compare function to work.
  6. @ginganinja I have Downpipe done and I'd do it again as it reduces the under hood temp near the intercooler. just the exhaust housing on the turbo. Almost got the front cover done but that would have only been the shiny type coating. i have no idea why but I want to push the stock turbo to its limit and PS automotive said they had seen good gains. I didn't think it'd be as good as it is. But avoid race season start as everyone gets it done and the delays get bad like mine was.
  7. How much empty space is left at the end of the legacy rom?
  8. Ok 3 different wifi obd2 adaptors on the way for NZD $64 yay China and 40% off sales stupid Apple not supporting Bluetooth correctly
  9. Well the jaycar one works fine on 08 sti and android which is $69. the Ali express version is cheaper. The software has to work with the car and adaptor as well its a three part combo deal. for $300 you'd better get the tactrix one. those costly Chinese ones are mostly the low tech skill all in one versions for workshops where learning and playing around is a waste of time and money. the older pre 98 cars are not obd2 from memory so need different adapters for obd1. F*** I just realized I now have an iPhone and have to do all this S*** again... @08 sti harry where are you based?
  10. @Loren Through HPC. for some reason my up pipe wasn't done so I'll get that done next time the turbo comes off.
  11. Yip it's still hot enough that holding it would burn you, but you can touch it. i drove to Pbms and put my hand on it in front of Julius he thought I was nuts. Its a dual a layer coating and took 3 weeks to get done so if you want it you do have no car for a while. the cost was about $800 for headers, turbo and Downpipe so that is the downsides. before that I'd only seen the silver pretty version that does almost nothing. Turbo spoilers fast and the extra 8wkw didn't hurt.
  12. Yes coating is good on its own I just wanted factory look. can touch it after full hard drive it is amazing
  13. Most after market ones have the MAF mounting plate but you need a retune as the diameter of the pipe changes so the sensor is out. look at process west or any other big brand. They a re in the $500 range without adding on the retune. rhe factory box is actually really good and the scoop takes from the high air pressure point below the bonnet lip so is hard to beat.
  14. Any cheap Bluetooth one should work with android to read codes and live data. iPhones need the wifi ones they are still cheap compared to the tactrix tactrix can program the ecu as well. i got mine from jaycar at a high price just as I couldn't find my USB one and it was Sunday with check light on.
  15. @YoungOne that sucks. Its what got me but intercooler split and dripped on the Downpipe wrapping. @Loren I have the thick black coating and the factory heat shield on top so even without the undertray is should survive. I have before and after dyno runs and it took about 10 degrees out and afr was out by one down to 11.5:1 from just the coatings. it had wrap before that so it's well worth it.
  16. Repco head office had the big sheets like 600x600 on clearance for $79. i was going to use mine for headers but went ceramic coating instead. as for wrap I've only found it average at best and you have to get the paint spray sealer if you want it to last or it just soaks up water and rust everything. It is fun driving around for about 30 mins with clouds of smoke billowing out from the hood while it bakes on.
  17. That gearbox fluid is priced like gold and takes a lot to fill up.
  18. What @Andy_Mac said ecu reset suggest electrical could be faulty sensor or wiring where reset enables it in ecu again or resets error count. you need to log data to see what the difference is. also check before you start engine the check light comes on then goes out. I've had a car where the charge light bulb died so it had faults but I had not idea
  19. What else is there it's just trim level, so seats and rims. Likely has audio and cruise control as well.
  20. You'd still need the ecu code to use the sensors so may need to swap Ecu and other bits. did you get the service manuals @Andy_Mac posted and check pin out? Most cars have "oil pressure sensor" its what triggers the dash light so more switch than sensor. euctek should be able to tell you if the code is there in the newer ecus. Ive wired things to the auto trains ecu pins on other cars but with newer can bus you likely need a signal not switching to ground. could wire the sensor low output to open circuit another key sensor to trigger limp mode. Or get really crazy and wire it to the start button to kill the engine.
  21. Brought it presents from @Niran jumpstarted some stranded lady's Toyota while waiting for burger fuel
  22. Just get the process west one I haven't even fitted mine yet but the fins are packed in there and the finish is next level. plus it weights a ton so built tough.
  23. Top mount as it'll work for now without cert issues. Still really want front mount though. That was to big for plane. have 4 port solenoid and dual port Wastegate turn up to see how far I can push the stock turbo. should have new suspension on the way next week. Just OEM replacement type but shortened Tomorrow may try the swapping of the vacuum pipe of BOV and fuel reg you suggested.
  24. Got sent to Australia for a half day event, got bored in the afternoon so went and got a process west intercooler to fill in the time
  25. Pretty sure health and safety and local bylaws will F*** you being its flammable. zoning of the property will likely be the first issue unless you are on a lifestyle block.
