  1. Ok I have ab 02 H6 Legacy, what on earth does the power button by the automatic box actually do? Played with it while driving back to Auckland and it feels the gears are abit more responsive and it goes higher in the rev ranges...Again I could be full of it due to placebo but thats the ol bum o meter lol
  2. What this may says is the truth.. It\'s an argument that continues til this day and is basically how long is a piece of string, if you are looking at performance wise ie a modding, evo\'s always were able to get extra power easily with alot less chances for things to go bang prior to the v7-8 model. But in stock form they each have their pro\'s/con\'s with neither having a dominant model over the other. Basically general rule of thumb that has been accepted is utilise the bum-o-meter. Give them a test drive and see what suits you, as I\'ve known people come back to wrx\'s after getting an evo and vice versa. IMO - I like the feel of the sti\'s and the bonnet scoop hits the right spot, but another person may think they are ugly and prefer the angles of an evo.
  3. What this man said, I can tell you after removing mine and getting the cage installed.....Holy crap the roadnoise/exhaust is rediculously loud, IMO pointless for a road car and the only reason I did mine was turning my gc8 into a racecar.
  4. http://subaru-msm.com/global/news2014/14001.html Also getting involved with the rally scene again...Here is hoping they will one day get back into the main WRC event again.
  5. Looking at 2017 already, as prices will be cheaper with used by then
  6. As Ray said, I\'ve never used it, find a good twisty 100k stetch..Me and Koom use to use the area round halswell in chch for bedding in as 100k zone with lots of good twistys to brake on for bedding in.. Definitely cool vids, +1 on the music it\'s horrible lol
  7. This +1, I remember...back in the day when 98 wasn\'t even available in chch and we didn\'t have stis dieing constantly.
  8. You mean a v6 sti? Or just purely the yellow colour...It\'s a definite either you love it or hate it colour, I\'ve noticed the fading aspect IMO is alot more apparent with that colour. I like it though personally.
  9. I like it, I agree with the legacy look however lets wait and see with the sti version.

    My new ride

Lolz to the above, still want to get a Ford v8 ute one day....One of those cars, that I will never "need" but just always wanted to drive...Even more so with them being discontinued soon. Agree with the subaru doing smaller engines idea, when looking around I just wasn\'t convinced at a 2l impreza hence I went with the h6 legacy. I still feel the legacy really fills the impreza space ie more legroom etc
  11. Might as well go for a garret for a little extra. But like others said a vf22 or td05 for half that will do the trick.

    Boot lid scratch

Sweet will check them out next year, my rear bumper had the paint scraped off a corner thanks to a "mysterious someone" at my work carpark. Pain in the ass but ah well what can you do.
  13. Tony at RDL does mine, old skool styles but just as effective.
  14. Maybe an injector seal issue?? Maybe not common but was something I had for years without realising. Years and years I thought my wrx was horrendous on the petrol...When I started the track build for the wrx, my mechanic found that one of my sard injectors didn\'t have a seal and it was "tuned" over, glad I stopped going to that tuner years and years ago as I use to having a fuel flooding issue the tuner was meant to have fixed. Tony at RDL just randomly rung me and asked if I had ever noticed how bad my wrx was on petrol...Then the penny dropped, use to be two tanks of petrol to just get to Nelson from Chch and that was with only some "spirited" driving.
  15. Lol thats been proven an urban myth, never had an issue in 13 years personally also.
  16. Anything specific brand wise? I recommend asking at fortyone automotive as they import from overseas for genuine stuff (my trust lip cost $600 alone). Locally isn\'t too much available, apart from the usual places like trademe etc, as genuine kits cost good $$$ hence there isn\'t much available in nz apart from "replica" kits.
  17. Tis sad days like tis it reminds me why I stick with my H6 legacy, I want a v9/v10 sti big time but I would be so nervous about leaving it in any carpark. Whilst the stock H6 with a decent alarm system isn\'t as much of a target. Hope your mate gets his ride back, know how it feels as had my first wrx stolen/stripped.
  18. Already got a rollcaged gc8 in chch also haha, more of a want then a need...As I also have that wrx to pay for as my mechanic is madway through my new setup, got a massive wiring mission ahead of him which plus on top of ps4/xbox one cost wises is an expensive month. ;D
  19. Listen to this guy http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,40306.0.html I\'m seriousy considering buying this car...But got an xbox one and ps4 to buy first.
  20. Take it back, nz new doesn\'t make it any more rarer...Maybe in 10-15 years if your planning on keeping it like the ol 89 legacy rs. Otherwise it isn\'t rare enough, most likely will be a cheaper/better deal come up. On here some amazing deals come up
  21. Cleaned interior, washed the car and reinflated the tyre with the slow leak...again. Tomorrow time to get wof, should fly through this time, was failed for headlight last time round and they couldn\'t fix it, hence was told to take it to an autoelectrician. Took it to an auto electrician and they changed bulbs, problem was fixed sigh.
