  1. I would agree with you had he not already have half of the stuff.. he is looking for abit more power, his exhaust is gone and he is shopping for a downpipe lol when he already have a full twisted set up.. you can buy a 8cm housing for $220 landed http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbine-Housing-Kinugawa-TD05H-T517Z-T518Z-T3-8cm-AR61-V-Band-External-Gated-/281693605111?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item41963f4cf7&vxp=mtr that will bolt to the twisted setup.. there is plenty you can do to the td05 to make it work well! you should know that lol
  2. Oh thats no good mate lol!, How bad is it? could always see if i can fix it or we could finally put all that stuff you got sitting there to use and hang a real exhaust?
  3. .You can get bolt on t3 mount exh housing with vband out in .63 flavour and yeah course it would be waste doing it to a Td05 i think Zach is referring to his current turbo? but hey its upgradable and with a twisted setup and a good td05 core in hand be silly not too go balls out.
  4. True but he can run it usng aftermarket exh housing
  5. Has my old setup with twisted steam uppipe turbosmart 44mm progate w.g and twist stainless 3' dp with removeable screamer section.. The uppipe mount is t3 s.s and vband on the downpipe,. i can do a 3'stainless mandrel pipe into a rage will be loud lol.
  6. What happened to the twisted setup you bought off me Zach and did you get the cusco adjustys ok?. Sounds like you need to come see me for some fab. I've had change of heart and looks like im back in business shed will be operational next week
  7. This! or get them to come to you. Could be a missing/loose bolt somewhere
  8. If you are sure thats what you want to do then don't ring around asking for professional advice just take the rim and tyre down to Tonys and tell them you want that tyre on that rim and don't mark the rim when your doing it!
  9. done one of them before prick of a job. they have a habbit of blowing on the bank closet to the firewall.(the head furthest away from the water pump if i remember correctly. i wouldn't bother they are slow and heavy on gas might as well go buy a ford falcon
  10. Just remember to finish 95lbs(A&B)and 90lbs,i do 30/60/85.. then 95(ab) and 90lbs(cdef).. leave it over night and re check the final torque the next day!!!!
  11. Ebay.. got mine for around that too
  12. Lol yeah! im sure if its left parked out on the street someone else will probably break in to it.
  13. i've had some sloppy shifters but none caused grinding gears guess it needs replacing anyway so just replace it might be the issue seeing you can move it into 4th by hand
  14. could be a bent selector fork
  15. G- coil on plug B- wasted spark as far as i understand
  16. Fbs has a v8 sti motor going cheap could build that but i would say it won't last long at 1750
  17. For the cost of a second hand engine and install etc you would be up for $2000 plus, for a rebuilt engine 3g-4g for another car thats running 2g? i think you should upgrade it to bh5 wagon if your only pick is legacy otherwise a forester could be another option(better)
  18. If you use arp head studs you use the lub that comes with it and install to there specs however i go 30/60/85/ then 95lbs on a and b and 90 on the rest. just remember to leave it over night and re-do the last sequence, Oem bolts are stretch bolts thats why you do 90' swings backoff blah blah.
  19. Subaru new oem http://www.ebay.com/itm/Subaru-Main-Bolts-Case-Bolts-Kit-EJ20-EJ25-EJ22-Block-Bolts-OEM-NA-Engine-/190755389085?fits=Make%3ASubaru&hash=item2c69e83e9d&vxp=mtr
  20. whoops main studs.. hmmm factory will be fine just makesure you replace the seal washers.. arp would be alot better! they have a very nice mains tud kit thats worth getting imo you'll pay around 500 for it but its a nice bit of kit
  21. FWIW when your finshed torquing the head down leave it over night and re torque the head the following day.. i end up with 95lbs on a/b and 90 on the rest using arp have always found the next day will need another 5lbs or there abouts
  22. Lol ARP 260-4701 can be had for about $250 fairly sure factory subaru oem headstuds will cost about that anyway and you certainly wouldn't re use them.. not that i think they will handle 400kw so why would you even consider using factory studs when your doubling the factory output? i would use L19
  23. Bugger hopefully you get it sorted in the end man sounds like a expensive piece of machinery! .. yes there is not much leg room before the valve touchy touchy the top of the pistons. fwiw i remember reading crawford? or someone like that do adjustable tensioner bolts for the tensioners to pull in the slack from machined blocks and heads etc
