  1. If you can get them to Wellington, I'm going up to Palmy on the 10th December
  2. I looked at getting a set six months ago or so. I have no doubt they're a decent product. In the end I was talked out of it due to the valving being less aggressive than factory STi KYBs which according to them would be too soft for my Clubsport activities even with factory STi springs fitted. So it probably depends largely on your intended use.

    re vin

Hrm yes. Rally cars are usually road legal for that reason.
  4. Looks like you are in South Dunedin. Head out around the peninsula before you go. Congratulations. I bet it sounds really nice.
  5. There are a few yeah, but basically you want to fish around under your steering column for a couple of pairs of plugs; one green set, and one black. Plug the black ones together, turn your ignition on, and count the flashes on your dash CEL. Long flashes are 10s, short flashed are ones, eg: two long flashes and three short is 23. Once you have the code, you'll be able to ask here or look it up via uncle google.
  6. If you're worried about careless driving, why were you driving carelessly?
  7. Have you tried reading the codes with the diagnostic plugs? Should take about thirty seconds to do.
  8. Usually you would have more camber in the front than the rear on a WRX. Do you have aftermarket camber bolts in the rear and stock fronts?
  9. The mechanic won't get paid anywhere near that. Qualified or not.
  10. The factory system just isn't fine for hard right hand cornering when low on fuel. We have too many real world motorsport experiences to believe otherwise.
  11. Is it this thing? http://jp-carparts.com/subaru/partlist.php?maker=subaru&car_baseid=F12001&type=G12&cartype=007&fig_id=073
  12. Actually, your local proper MSNZ affiliated club is the only place to start; you need to join one.
  13. Don't both sl8r and Tony have them?
  14. A proportion of the weight reduction from switching to alloy arms is unsprung which should make the front suspension more responsive.
  15. There's not much point racing a car you don't like though. And I'd have thought you'd be spending a considerable sum trying to get WRX performance out of an MX5. Especially at street sprints and autocrosses where they get eaten for breakfast by stock WRXs. And do you really want to take your dogs for a trip in the MX5? Civics and Integras are great club cars, but can't really compete with a GF8 for non-race practicality. And see my initial point =]
  16. My guess is that the clevis at the bottom of the front struts will be too wide to fit your car. Ask the person selling them to measure the gap and compare it with yours.
  17. @Munkvy Haha. I can't let it go. It's my adopted philosophy. I'm sure you can attest to that! Though to be fair I've given up a bit of safety over the years for a little traction =]
  18. I wouldn't discount having a proper plated R180 and a DCCD for a club car. Both transform the handling of the car; particularly with an aftermarket controller. I'd love a quick rack in mine.
  19. And at the end of October (hopefully) I'll have a PBMS sump for sale if you're interested ;]
