  1. i wont be staying RWD with the new power increase, just for a little while, i'll want more traction for track days. i also run no front diff in my gearbox.
  2. was previously dynoed at 167kw at the rear, fairly standard. however far from standard now but yet to get car back together and running, not far away though, will b tuning for 200-220kw to start with.
  3. yep, 3 gearbox rebuilds so far, different parts each time though. i almost have a new gearbox now ;D never blown a diff or driveshaft.
  4. thats nothing i have one at work which i have on display in the office thats much worse than that. its a good reminder to my customers of what not to let happen.
  5. yea, getting lots at work at the moment. get it put on a load tester.
  6. and what about the people that own multiple bikes, but can only ride one at a time, and even then they may only go out once a month if that, i reckon that sucks, will be a massive expense for those people. what you will find happening is people on bikes wont bother paying their rego, have the rego on hold and just risk it for the handful of rides they might go on per year, and basically they just wont stop for a cop. have heard many people tell me this is what they will do and these are responsible people that wouldnt normally do that kind of thing. thats how pissed off they are. i signed a petition a good 6months or so ago against this, as i too have a bike license, just dont currently have a bike. fact is bikers dont kill bikers, cars kill bikers.
  7. i like number 4, but im not interested in having a permanent name badge on mine, or it can only be worn to club events, rather have something i can wear anywhere, make that an option lol. and if these are gonna happen it needs to happen soon, winter is upon us and im not gonna buy one at the end of winter to be honest.
  8. yea i bought kami's 7k, cant remember exactly what i paid but yea was around that price bracket, it was worth every dollar anyway, had a very noticeable effect running with the TD05, held boost higher in the rev range and a much more aggressive tune. i ran 15psi every day with it, and for a short period even ran 17psi, though i wouldnt recommend that haha, was pretty quick though. to give you an idea, on basically a standard v2 wrx 20g setup, with TD05 and the 7k ecu my car dynoed 167kw at rear wheels. i had the factory downpipe in so didnt have trouble with boost spike. definately find yourself a 7k over a 6k, may just take a little while to find one, i on-sold mine for $200, now im running a posssum link.
  9. ran my greys at 15psi for ages, and dyno shows it as fine. 16psi is over boost cut so yea not surprised lol.
  10. i strongly disagree with that last bit im afraid. i guess there is a difference in buying a aftermarket filter and fitting yourself, and getting one fitted by a workshop, difference is when someone else fits it you have full backing from that business and the supplier if anything goes wrong. totally agree that repco/supercheap may not be bothered doing anything if a problem is encountered.
  11. I couldn't give two rats arses about who actually makes my genuine filters gaskets and seals. I just buy genuine. At least i know it's to SOME sort of standard. : as said above every filter is made to a standard. as proven by this thread most mechanics(apart from the ones at wingers) here use aftermarket filters with no issues. i cant speak for ryco but i know the ones we use are designed to meet genuine specs. even car manufacturers dont require their own filters to be used to cover new car warranties, what does that tell you?
  12. dont really need a controller, can just use the appropriate spring in the wastegate and let that control boost on its own, thats what i used to do. but an ebc is always better.
  13. yip alot of filters are made by the same people. it always makes me laugh that some people think they are actually getting a part made by subaru themselves, hence think it should be top quality.
  14. 'some' filters we use at work are O.E, never had an issue in the 2 years ive been here.
  15. yea, and repco branded ones are ryco filters, just different colour.
  16. To do this you must have gloves shaped like lamb hocks. like i said, anythings possible.
  17. ask supercheap nicely to send it away to ryco to be analysed, they will find out exactly what happened, then you can report back here.
  18. $200 oil? decent synthetic gear oil is no where near that price. the price doesnt matter, its making sure the oil has the right specs for your gearbox.
  19. i agree definately a fitment issue. it takes about 300psi to blow a oil filter seal out if properly installed, and thats directly out of the Ryco tech book at work. i fit around 500 aftermarket filters every month with no issues. apart from one which i have been dealing with this week, on a diesel vehicle, but that was due to the internal engine oil pressure regulator failing. im sending that filter away to be tested and find out exactly what pressure the seal popped out at.
  20. i would say difference would only be the colour.
  21. $34.91incl gst retail for nolathane branded mounts. thats from partmaster, maybe cheaper elsewhere.
  22. haha good try, i will let you know what the retail is when i get the invoice tomorrow, even at $30 its still cheap i reckon.
  23. thats weird cause my r160 twin spins instantly every time without fail, maybe his is buggered? and i never broke an axle or cv, and mine gets death as well, well when it was on the road anyway.
