Ipod to amp connector

Oh here goes an odd one,

Does anyone know if anyone makes an adapter (for want of a better word) that will connect an ipod/Mp3 player straight to an amp,with say a volume knob on it ...

just use a 3.5mm stereo jack to 2xRCA and use the volume on the mp3 player

I used to have one of these, charger and variable 'line out' thru dock connector, did not work on 2nd gen ipod touch though.

Dunno if you can still get them, but very stealth and discrete

looks almost there but i have a 2nd gen touch hehehehehe damn it

wont using a 3.5mm to din audio plugs be to much input for the amp (line level vs speaker level)

no as headphone out is only line level aswell

If you want a volume knob, get a double potentiometer and splice the RCA to 3.5 mm onto it

Middle pin is output, one is input and the other is ground.

If you aren't electronically minded then basically you change how much of your input is actually output. Yeah. Works well for me
