Hey, when I had my vac lines tidied up the plastic bits on this were so brittle that they just snapped off without any force, i've rangi'd up something to keep it going atm but would really like to replace it with one that isn't broken.

If anyone has one lying around or knows where I can get one cheap then please let me know :D

It's the solenoid for the charcoal canister. You can just block it off.

i had the vac lines that go into it put together and it made my car idle higher?

werid i removed mine and ddint do that...

oh ok, it brought the idle up from around 800 to 1000

did you take the thing out, link the vac lines and just have the plug hanging there? When i tried it i left the sensor sitting there and had it plugged in still with the vac lines connected

It would. Block them both and it'll be fine.

vapour from the fuel tank builds up and is stored in the charcoal canister

under conditions determined by the ecu, contents of canister is fed into the intake manifold. (that solenoid is opened) as far as i understand this is only during open throttle.

at idle (closed throttle) plumbing the canister straight in (bypassing the solenoid as mentioned before) effectively feeds more air to the engine, hence the rise in idle. its a vacuum leak.

this system is probably beneficial in a small way but its mainly for emission control - otherwise the vapour just builds pressure in the tank and escapes via the pressure release valve built into the fuel cap.

older motors have no solenoid but the canister is plumed straight into the throttlebody, right between the width of the throttle butterfly valve where it sits at closed throttle. it is blocked off at closed throttle.

there are one way valves going into and exiting the canister.

well thats how i understand it lol

whould this be the reason why i can have a good amount of pressure in my fuel tank ever sense i blocked the line were it comes through the firewall

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
