Turbo Upgrade

Hi All,

Since my turbo is poked on my V6 sti, im thinking of going a bit bigger with possbile twisted set up

A few of my options are TD05 20g, VF22

i currently have, Frount mount, fuel pump, fuel pressure reg, external wastegate.

What other options are there that will let me get a decent fair power upgrade over the VF28

Any help would be great.

What do you call "fair power"?

Do you have an output in mind?

Currently makes 199.5kw atw, wouldnt mind say 220 or a bit more?

Then the two Turbochargers you have mentioned will net that figure.

Or you could send your VF28 to be rebuilt/modified and also match that.

What if i was after more power, say 250+?

my high flowed vf23 makes 236, and dies, a vf22 makes about the same.

a 20g might get you to 250

the bigger the turbo the more lag your going to get

if you want to gain 20-50kw then you will definately need a ecu, just bolting on a slightly bigger turbo wont give you those gains.

You'll also need fuel pump and injectors. So definately can't be done without ECU.

stock 440 injectors can get you to about 240kw depending on each setup, boost levels etc.

a safe number to sure of is between 220-230kw *dyno dependant*, though its worth upgrading if your going aftermarket ecu route as last thing you want is your injectors to be holding you back

A VF22 with an aftermarket ECU makes for a very rapid street car, we reccomend the VF22 for a stock replacment upgrade

vf34 is probably the best turbo for a 2.0 street car.

the bigger the turbo the higher the boost threshold that you're going to get
