If you drop them or send them to any of the Autolign branch's they will send em to Auckland for you, I think you would be looking at aprox $250 a shock if they need new shafts.

Hmmm cheers, for that price maybe i'll look for a set of adjusties?

I'm not into the 'slammed' look at all, just want a good handling ride as wagon isnt lowered at all at mo.

thats a hard decision that I just had to make, sure for that price you could look at adjustables, but to be honest unless your getting super hooked up the adjustables you would get for that same price might not be as good as your revalved bilsteins, you also have to take into account a cert for the adjustables which would be around $400. what diameter are the shafts on your shocks?

Bilsteins are bloody awesome i am one of the Bilstein technicians at autolign. The price is $250 + GST a shock if it needs a new shaft(90% of the time they do). If they are tired and leaky then even with just a reco they will feel alot better, we can revalve them this is a cost of roughly $95 + GST each. or may be able to work out a deal if you reco and re-valve all at the same time

Do not use suspension tech as he does not use proper parts to reco them, some of the work that we have received due to his dodgy/failed reco's is ridiculous.

When they're working they're awesome. I'm a tech at Subaru, and we're constantly replacing them. IMO if something is so expensive, they should be more reliable.

i am yet to reco one i have already done, alot of the ones we get in for reco are still untouched from new. if they are run with dust boots and correct bumpstops(they run internal ones) then they should last a while

I have fitted brand new units only to find a large amount of play in them. I would estimate we do 2-3 sets a week. Either knocking like crazy or play in the top bushing.

brand new ones shouldnt have play in them (assuming he means brand new off the shelf not recon'd) as we cheack all our recos before they go out of our rebuilding room for play etc

im not saying he's wrong im saying thats weird

althou.. we have noticed the internal bearings can often be moved further apart for more support at full extension (which we do everytime we reco)

suspension tech, he does a great job, between me and my brother have had alot done by him, alot of members here have.

we went to him because we found him better quality and better to deal with than autolign, they were terrible, this was the one in mt wellington/penrose.

I know its not right, that's why I don't like them. And yes, they were new, not reco'd.

Question. Got some all purpose auto grease. Is that stuff good for rubbing on the shocks as a temp fix to stop the knocking? Or do i need to get some special stuff?

Also, do the KYB's die nearly as much as the bilsteins?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
