Hi everyone, i was just wondering if anyone knows how simple it is to put all the running gear (engine, gearbox, diffs, driveshafts, suspension) from a 1997 BD5 Legacy RS into an older version Legacy sedan (1989-1992). any info or advice would be really appreciated.

Transmission swaps directly, suspension can be done by swapping round tophats, engine will drop into place easily enough but you're doing that, you're better off keeping the single turbo setup as its easier to service and has less issues.

Twin turbo gen 1 though. Sacrilege.

I'd get stuff from a BG/BD5 B or C, with the 3 plug loom. Then you can run anything from Forester to STi to GTB gear.

Wouldn't it be better to use a single turbo motor into a BC/BF? The TTs are evil

While i don't see a problem with buying a TT car.

Trying to get a TT working in another car that wasn't TT from factory is just plain stupid..

Ok slight change of plans. i am now looking at transfering all my bd5 gear into a 1992 gt and yes i will be doing the single turbo conversion during this process ;D. one problem i have with this is that my bd5 legacy setup seemed to be puting its main power to the front wheels which i didnt enjoy when driving and im not sure if thats the norm for 5MT rs legacys. any thoughts on this?

Early Legacy's are 50/50. 60/40 front to rear under power.
