ok well i'm in the process of swaping my engine in my legacy, (old one was BEB victim) I have the old engine out and have the new one in the engine bay but the problem is that I cant seem to get it to bolt right up to the gearbox, I can get it pushed on most of the way (untill theres about a 10mm gap) but it just wont go any further!!!! grrrr its making me so mad!! so close but no cigar so far, any ideas???

I'll give you Keltics tip for this. It worked for me. Don't do the pressure plate bolts up tight. Just tight enough to hold the clutch plate steady. Gear box in to position leaving a gap small enough to get a spanner (hopefully a ratcheting one for your sake) in on to the pressure plate bolts. Put in a few of the gearbox bolts to hold that in place. Start doing the pressue plate bolts up. Just use a bar on the crank pulley nut to turn the enine when required.

ok so im guesing it just lets the clutch plate move a bit so it "pops" onto the input shaft rather than being solid and having to have it prfectly aligned? i'll go give it a go and let you know how I get on, I just wanna get the damn thing driving again!!!

Guest SPANKU

clutch tool is important. sold my old one on trademe for $5 after i got a proper one.

u can get a old gearbox and get the main shaft out of it and cut it off and u have a clutch tool.

just remember even with these tools, u still need to get it in the almost perfert angle(or stright) to get it in. ive done this many time and sometime we still get it wrong. i had problem doing dane's race car, luckily jamie was there to help me drop the motor back in

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
