would a 260cca battery be ok to be starting a rex with?

It should start it, but is a bit small. I wouldn't fit anything less than 300cca.

yeah even my small battery is 400ca (not sure what the Cca is tho?)

Cold Cranking Amps. Basically the amps the battery will put out while not being charged at -18 degrees C (that last bit is thanks to wikipedia)

sorry i should have explained, my battery says its 400CA (assuming cranking amps) but doesn't mention Cold Cranking Amps, so i wonder what the difference is in numbers?

assuming a good alternator, would having a smaller cca like 300 be of hassle ?

cca is the starting current, before the alternator is doing anything
