NEED HELP,SUBI ECU

hey guys i gotta subaru ecu i bought over a year ago now,it was ment to be for my forester but it didnt fit,im not sure what it actually is but i know its from a wrx,on the cover it says : wrx,v6 block,1992 body,it also has a blue sticker on it with codes an stuff,when i opened it up theres a chip thats been put on the circuit board,if you can help me find out what it is or whatever feel free to post something just to put me outta my misery ;D ;D

it should have a large letter/number combo on the front cover. Off the top of my head i know 6S is v3 sti (manual).

yer it might be a chipped ecu. Look for the J1 jumper on the board.. the bottom board its near one corner - and report if its been cut.

oh man i give up with this bloody ecu,throw it back in the cupboard with the boost tap,tachos and turbo timers :'( :'(

just have a look - its not hard to find the J1 jumper...its written in small white writing.. and its on the large base board next to a little electric jumper thinymajig. Its near one of the corners.. i forget which - its not hard to spot if you take 10 mins to have a look.

And throw up a pic.. easy as.

Don't think the U8 ecu will even work since its a 4plug (going by that chart) and the Forester runs a 3plug. If you're wanting to upgrade your ecu with a better factory ecu why not go down the 6S (v4 STI), Yellow injector and orange AFM route?

its a version 1 rex ecu and i dont think its chipped,just had a proper look,but ill post up a pic anyway

yea that was my problem i bought the dam thing and didnt know that it wouldnt fit,had it sitting here fo over a year and now thanks to this site i get some insight to what to it is,but yeah im after all the parts your recommending

ummmmmmmm that looks very much like it might be a possumlink, would need a better photo to tell for sure. Top left there is a square black chip in a brown socket... whats the sticker on it say?

PossumLink = Link ECU that was developed by Link & Possum Bourne Motorsports. Its suitable for V1/2 WRXs and early legacys, although being the WRX version means it wont run the WAIC in the legacys but will still run the rest of the engine fine AFAIK.

they are worth what someone is prepared to pay. generally anywhere from $300 to $600
