Sparkplug gap?

What should i gap my new plugs at? Sf5 engine, high boost 16psi, low boost 10psi

What ignition system are you using? Foz waste spark or Legacy coil-on-plug??

Just coil on plug for now, may change to foz setup at some stage since i have the parts 4 it

If you're running 16psi on coil-on-plug, gap them down to 0.65 - 0.7.

im running COP at 22psi at .9mm gap and my spark is not getting blown out

What coils though? The early BC/BF or the BG GTB coils?

The heat range of spark plugs also effect when you get miss fires under load.

I would hope that on 22psi you would have dropped down one heat range colder with your spark plugs to help avoid pre-ingnition and detonation.

NKG plugs go up IE BCPR7E is colder then a BCPR6E, champion plugs are opposite.

yup im using a heat range colder and v7sti coils at 2.2ms dwell

um dont mean to be stupid but arnt they pre set when you buy them fresh out of box???

all different setups require different gaps etc for them to be working at their best, thats why I asked and said around what sort of boost etc i'll be running

Plugs out of the box are ok for stock and lightly modified engines. Once you start modding it for high boost, compression, bigger injectors etc, then you'll likely need to close the gap up on the plugs.

Using BG GTB COP mine started blowing out the spark around 22psi with 0.9mm gap. Down to 0.65mm and they had no issues up to 26psi or so.
