Unless they have mufflers and exit behind the last rear passenger compartment?

and are under 89db correct

they are classed as an exhaust leek WHICH technically a Atmo. venting BOV is anyway...

Under the db and exiting behind last passenger compartment, wouldn't make it a screamer

This would make it an external wastegate that is quite and legal !

And and Atmo BOV only vents intake charge NOT exhaust gas

everyone knows that bov is for intake.

the bov amendment for the virm is on the same page as exhausts, even comes under the same heading.

It can be legal, mine is legal and has passed many wof's. You must have a screamer pipe venting out the back of ur car ie like mine a seperate pipe by exhaust. Otherwise it could be classed as an exhaust leak, plus numerous safety reasons it's in ur benefit to do this or at least have the pipe take the hot gasses away from the engine(Don't want leaking oil to catch on fire).

The only issue is the noise, which is the whole point of a screamer for wank factor which is illegal. Yes I have one so not having a crack at you mate. As mine is now a track car Im not too concerned bout the noise(majority of vehicles out there are far louder then my screamer), but if you boot it on the street you are up for noisy exhuast fine and at worse a green sticker.

  • 3 weeks later...

Ive just looked at the VIRM, section 11-1 Exhaust Systems:

there is nothing in this section that relates to any noise being emitted by a VTA BOV,

I also looked under Section 13-1 Engine and Transmission

and there is nothing there that relates to VTA BOV's

but it does state that

"LVV Certification is required for the fitting of a Supercharger or turbocharger as a modification, or the substitution of a Turbo or Wastegate, or the re-chiping of electronic engine control units on turbo cars,"

So any of you guys who have an External wastegate, have swapped your TD04 for a VF22, or had your ecu chipped/reflashed technically need a cert......

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
