So you have coil on plug at the moment right?

search. there's heaps of discussion, some say just do it, some have trouble wiring it, some like myself say its not ideal performance-wise to run wasted spark from a v1/v2 ecu

then there's the bosche conversion. read the threads first and ask

I sorta sold my motor with al my coils, I got coil's I can use 4 this from a waiste spark setup on a skyline. Mite as well do away with the crappy coils well im putting it back tagetha. Is it as easy on a suby as a skidda? I cant use search im only on my mobile

Sounds like your doing a coil conversion...

You can do wasted spark, the Bosch coil conversion, or... as a few people have done... the GTB coil conversion (better with heat than the old coils). All require a bit of work.

Three options to put into your search when you get to a computer there. Frankly anything's better than the dying, misfiring stock coils

Yep the stock coils are rubbish. Thats why I thought since I need to get 4 coilz to just go to wasted spark

I have an RS Legacy 1989. Best thing I have ever done to it was convert the coil packs to late sti 01+ and bypass the standard single ignitor and use the ignitors that are built into the late model coils. These coils also bolt straight into the same place, i now have way better engine response and removal of back firing, never misses any more, and the best thing being these coils dont break!

I did the wiring and installation of all four in 1 & 1/2 hours.

Wire colours were a little different on the old legacy. But this is something id recommend to anyone.
