Wheel Bearing

Recommended Posts

i had a v7 in yesterday with complaints of a noise, when i drove it the brake pedal was soft then was good until you turned then went soft like pad knock off, also as you turned left with good lock on the L/H disc would rub on the brembo caliper sounded like worn pads to metal. when lifted to inspect, found thin metal wear marks on inside & outside of disc at opposite ends & good pads. :)

I'm not 100% sure on the diagnosis, but when mine was gone, I was told that you were able to move it if you took the wheel off, like something was loose. Sorry I can't really explain it any further, but send a message to Ichi Ban - he fixed mine!

yeah thats what mine does. when i was changing my wheels over, i could tilt it while it was off the ground. when i was looking at my tyre with the rims face on, i could tilt it so the bottom of the tyre would come closer to me and the top would go away and vice versa. it wasnt moving that much but its something that needs to be fixed. i just need to do it myself!

just sell it.

or try tightening the hub nut,

a good way to tell if you have a fucked bearing is swerve side to side down the road and load up the bearing to see if its noisey

that worked on the v7 sti, also needs new cv & it's a 6spd with a really horrible clunky feeling g/box ;) It has come from indycars.....E-nuff said ;D

I thought i might have a buggered bearing too - when deccelerating my car makes a grinding/whining noise tht seems to come from the front left. But it only happens when in gear. Cant be certain though.

I have a similar noise in my wagon. I thought it was coming from front right hub area, gf said that it sounds like its coming from the rear of the car (diff area) and with some more noise testing, I now agree with her. Jacked the car up and couldn't find anything. Cure for it all, turn the stereo up louder cause I couldn't be bothered getting dirty....

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
