anti breaking

when eva i start my car up in the morning thr orange breaking like comes on on my dash(gc8) stays on for about 3 secounds then switches off.is this a fault?

I take that to mean that your ABS light comes on with first start

If so then this is perfectly Normal

Yes, It is to show the system is working properly

yup it does a system check when u first start, should stay on between one and 3 seconds then turn off

AB != anti breaking..

ABS = Air Bag System..

if it comes on when you turn the ignition as it runs its self check test.

if all systems are good.. then it will turn off..

if it stays on well after you've started driving, there is something wrong with your air bag system..

So to answer your question - both the 'SRS' and 'ABS' lights will turn on when you turn the key. Upon starting the car, the lights will display again, and should turn off within a few seconds.

Sounds as though everything is working A-OKAY

Hence my first car (1987 Honda Accord SI EXCLUSIVE) had an 'ALB' warning light upon start-up

A mate had a second generation Prelude roughly the same age as your Accord.

A great little car

Honda's ALB was an early (non-Bosch ?) anti-lock system that used one sensor for each front wheel and a single shared sensor for the rear wheels.

It had slower reactions than the fancy Euro systems and allowed for a tiny bit of lockup before the system activated.

Either or depends on where u go the americans like antiskid and supplemental so :)
