How difficult is this? Should I DYO or take to the experts?

Easy, but if your unsure take it to a shop to be done.. They should only charge you 30min lab

get someone in your area to show you. its not hard.. but if your unsure a shop should do it. Brakes a'la important yo!

make sure you have the brake piston re-seater thingamajicky..

thought I would rangi it with with a clamp and block of wood the last time.. didn't really work..

lol it always worked for mee, just make sure you take the lid off the brake fluid reservoir so its got room to expand

have heard that forcing fluid back through the master cylinder can invert a seal? how true is this Ichiban?

i usually clamp the line and open the bleeder before pushing in the pistons

Easy. There are lots of guides out there how to change pads on Brembos. I managed to do mine without incident, and I'm a crap mechanic.

No you wont invert a seal, but you will push and debris back up the line into the master cyl, which MAY cut the seal when the brakes are used or bled

Best option is to open the bleed nipple and expell the fluid as you push the caliper piston back, then bleed the system once pads are done

Pad replacement time is brake fluid replacement time.

Brake fluid is so often overlooked
