Plug, in passenger side extractor

Hey guys, got a BG5 Legacy and was trying to take off the heat shield on the passenger side of my extractors under the car but can't take it off as there is some sort of plug/sensor going into the extractors there. Does anyone know what it is and how to remove it, does it just screw out?

Maybe o2 sensor and yes is should screw out

yes it is the 02 sensor . they get quite tight so take care not to strip it.

i cut the heat shelds off with tin snips because i wasnt putting them back on .

cheers dudes, might have to cut the heat shield as it's very tight!!!! I also have a random plug hanging down further down my exhaust that I'll take a photo of any ideas what that would be for? I can't seem to find somewhere to plug it in

Has it had an exhaust change cause that would most likely be the catalytic converter heat sensor

Your on to it, yes it has had an exhaust change.

It actually has a wrx exhaust from downpipe to muffler as midas had done a aftermarket install on one the week before I went in with my new car which had the rangiest home made and leaking exhaust you have ever seen, I got them to install that to save some $$.

I wish I had taken a photo of the old one after they removed it now it was so shit haha, crazy welds everywhere! So no big deal to not have that plugged in to anything?

Nah should not have an issue it's just a warning light on the dash
