Electronic boost control question

After watching a few cars on the dyno running boost solenoids you can see on the graph that the boost is anything but stable ? Is this the solenoid cycling ? Am wanting to know if an after market controller on an external gate would do the same or would it be stable ?

u can get smooth boost with factory solenoid as well bro - just needs to be set correctly

see blakes psi graph and u will see its smooth

an electronic one tho is easier to set and get a smooth stable psi as its fairly smarter - depending on which sort u get

have seen it stable both on internal and external

but once u put a proper electronic one u will have the best setup using the external and im sure hols boost very steadly

cant wait to see ur one next dyno as looks like u have some good plans for it.. ;D

Have used both tap and electronic

If u want just a single boost level and have got moderate levels of psi then tap works very well

Electronic ones seem to hold higher boost levels better but maybe not good to force turbo too hard

Electronic ones claim to bring in boost earlier but for the difference in price a tap is not that bad anyway

Electronic ones are best if u want something more sophisticated like gear based controller

Anyway in summary a tap is good for what it does and can do 90% of what a electronic one can FO a fraction of the price

If u are pushing closer to turbo limits then get electronic else Tap is sweet

How much u scored that for bro

They are very good and easy to set

Seriously easy to set and soooo hold boost rock solid

Have had that on 2 different cars and fitted to few more and always have had very good boost control with them

Download the manual from net or let me know and can send a link

And ya they have a switch for external gate and all

U will love it bro

haha got a question though bro

Since the HKS evc4 runs in KPA i still want to run my PSI boost gauge...

it says in the instructions to run the map sensor for the EVC (to read boost pressure) should run off a non interupted vac line from the intake manifold??

i have run out LOL i have one port for the fuel reg.one port for the ecu map sensor.one port for BOV and the other port for the boost gauge...

what shall i do about this LOL can one be tee'd up and still function all good??

About 18 psI bro . . . . Shit yea mean difference . . . It spools allot easier and when you plant it the boost comes on allot faster and just hits peak boost and holds it strong as . . . So easy to install and to set boost is too easy lol . . Definitely recommend these for any one who wants a electronic boost controller thats not real confusing

It hits around 1.2 bar on the digital display and only drops around 0.05 bar through the whole rev range . . And I get 1.2 5 to 1.3 bar in 4th gear . . . The boost drop of 0.05 bar isnt noticeable on the boost gauge but you can see it on the digital . . . . . But my lines are quite long . . Im going to get a niple put in the piping closer to the waste gate so that the hoses are allot shorter but it still controls really well :) the boost comes up really fast and hits peak hard and holds strong

Good stuff bro

Gotta admit it's bloody good ay

For set and forget control cNt think of any better in terms of setup and use

Try and set the scramble mode to say 19.5 and use that only in mid range

J will love the hit it brings bro

Can add external trigger on scramble mode so makes it real easy

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
