setting up adjustables

Ive got a set of adjustables with adjustable tophats and woundering how hard is it toset them all up or do they need to be professionally done. These are for my track car that isnt road legal

Who do you get to set them up if you get themg to do it??

What part are you wanting to set up? Height is easy, camber/caster/toe etc is a bit harder

I set up mine then took it to a freindly wheel alighnment place that didn't mind me messing round and changing settings to get it set how i wanted, i know some guys do wheel alignments with strings on the ground etc but i can't be arsed with that

Heights easy . Put car on ground and measure from center of hub to the top of the wheel arch (like cert people do) and make the same height on each side etc . . To set camber you need a special camber angle tool or a big protractor works too

I've used Race-pro scales before for this- for adjusting ride height

Gives corner weights and obviously front/rear split etc

Means you can set the car perfectly and not have one rear and one front carrying more weight - ie cross weight

A neutral car drives so so much better, (unless your seting up for a certain track - ie ovals )

i took my civic to chris and told him what i wanted to use it for, he did what he did and gave it back to me lol

then he said if the track is wet, notch down the dampener thing a few clicks and to use my temp gun after each circit to dial in teh camber/tyre inflated'ness, needless to say i have to go back to him as he wants to expalin it better to me. ( i think the confuesed look on my face gave away i was confused hahaha )

YES tyre temp gauge a must for circuit work

Check inside edge / centre and outer edge for temp to ensure correct camber and tyre inflation settings

the thermal camera we had at my old job would have been awesome, would actually be able to see the heat distribution on the screen
