seeing as I would be classed as a noob (fair enough, its true) For what its worth, I have been planning on and searching out a set of V7/8 Sti struts for my foz (though Plox's WRX take offs are sounding tempting).

While researching for this as I'm otherwise bound to screw it up (like the legacy bilsteens I almost grabbed for example) camber bolts were pretty much a big part of the picture.

The Noltec dude on TM has or had them last time I looked.

Haha, yeah, thats where my noobness hits me. The how to fit was the next step in the saga once I grabbed the shocks.

the camber bolts can work in any suspension... they are an eccentric cam lol

they are thinner than a standard bolt for the suspension but the cam part is the same size so effectively allowing the hub to move in the strut...

Just came across a set of standard V7 shocks and springs for about $300. Claimed to have done around 30,000kms. Would they be much better than standard Version 4 Type R struts? Mine have done 180,000km+, and this seems like a cheap and cheerful refresher if they bolt straight in without a cert.

And in fact, just found a set out of an 01 Spec C with a claimed 10,000km on them for less. What do y'all think?

Pretty sure you will have to swap rear top hats and you mite have the rear postive camber and need some camber bolts etc

for either sets, the spec C ones should be stiffer

If they are spec c ones, then they came in on an import and 10,000km is pretty low for an import...

Mine shagged out at around 65,000km on the rear.

Having thought about it a bit more though, I guess they would probably be a bad idea handling-wise unless by some miracle the GC8 chassis has the same weight distribution as GDA/B. Doesn't sound like any here has tried them on a coupe.
