Gear boot conversion - older WRX style into a V4

Wanting to fit a gearboot from an earlier model (referred to as '4 sided pyramid') WRX -

Into my V4 WRX (similar setup to below, referred to as 'sunken leather boot') -

Anyone done this? Know if it'll fit?

Assuming that I'll have to buy the entire plastic panel and remove the gear boot from the bottom of the plastic panel from the V2, then re-attach (may need to be stretched sideways?) to the plastic panel from the V4?

Here is how i did mine

Well ive been at it for the last 3 hours with a stanley knife and a file.

Went and saw rew-leggy off CS and got some parts that he brought down from MM11.

Decided that if i was going to do 6 speed that i needed to make the surround look the part as well

So this is what i did.

Then after alot of measuring..

and the final result

And thats how u make a V7 boot fit into a BC. I await comments

the surrounds off a V7 sti i just moddified the whole thing into the BC centre console

Same technique can be used to put a leather gearboot onto the handbrake or replacing your existing poos factory one...
