What about a speedo from a NZ new V7 WRX? Been driving my Mum's one for the last week and its got a 260kph speedo. Only black faced though.

The 10% of people that truly know what they are talking about will most likely treat you better too.

Also they seem to get all anal about dollar values so they're probably just jelly that you can spend 40k on a car.

40k isnt that much on a engine now days. The last race engine I was involved in building (1UZ for Superstock car) was $75K with option to spend another $17K on new upgraded sump and mainfold when they get built

Yea 40k is a fear amount of cash, but like the dude below you posted, it's not really much considering the amounts being spent on other builds... But for a 27 year old Sparky it's a SH*TLOAD!!! ;D

Very true mate, 40k is the max I could fork out right now, Gotta get my self a garage to put the toys in too!! Could have easily stretched it out to 70+k Cosworth bits, sleeved internals etc... But what I'm building is a good solid base.

Good parts arent cheap. Add in costs for machining, balancing etc, then labour rates of a top notch engine builder.

Just ask the likes of BT and Tony on what the price of quality is these days.

I remember back when I laid out 18K on a motor...

some stupid things later and voila money wasted (some drunk dick drove up the arse of the car shunted me into a Safari with big towball...).

Unless you are racing the motor its a waste of money...

Yea mate, thats the plan eventually, have not yet been on the track with the car, but intend on getting there for sure, If I find I'm good at it, the Spec C will become just a track car!
