Stolen 2004 BP wagon - immobiliser?

Hey guys

My car was nicked from the Orakei train station carpark on friday: insurance company is asking if it has an imobiliser, i think it did but i'm unsure.

It has the stock security system - if someone can shed some light on this i'd really appreciate it.

ps: licence plate FMQ414 if anyone see's it, though i'd prefer it stay stolen so i don't have to try repairing whatever the thugs inevitably break.... lesser of 2 evils.

This is a first as they have factory imobs you have to have a key for. Checked cameras for towage?

Mentioned towing to the cops, and they said they'd look into it: although it's a free council park & ride carpark... so shouldnt have been towed during the day.

afaik yes they have an immobilizer of sorts.. but its not recognised as/to an alarm standard.

YES! there are factory immoblisers in them, a very complicated ones also, most of the wires in these model are optical wirings...

but there is a way to get around with a laptop and a dongle... most likely the car is towed away

indeed will have been towed , unless you have a JDM spec without immobilser, then just hot wired and gone like all others

well, called around the towing companies, no word there: cops also have a register of towed vehicles, and it's definitely not been taken legitimately.

oh well... time to hit the Gt South Rd car lots for a replacement this weekend.

You must be able to obtain some footage yourself of the car being takenyourself. Might have been someone with a tow truck go in with police report and get them to have a.look

Whilst i'd much prefer the bastards were caught and hanged: i'm not overly impressed at the thought of getting my car back in less-than-great condition.

Don't bother. They break into the car break the ignition barrel. Cut your seat belts and use it tow your car alway. Easy as that.

They did that to my mates civic but lucky that the flat mate saw it and called the cop
