Cheap decent tyres

Have to replace the tyres on the Leggy on the front before the shift up north next week. Noticed some splits in the side walls.

They were on the car when we got it and I have replaced two of them with Firenzas which are holding up well.

Anyone know any cheap places for 215/45/18s? Cant remember where I got the other ones from.

I think they were like $180 a tyre. Pretty good on the road too.

I just put a set of Neuton NT5000's on my Ute and they seem like pretty decent tyre's so far. Miiiiiiles better then the crappy Triangle brand tyre's that they replaced. Not quite as good as my t1r's on the WRX though. Toyo put there prices up apparently so they were too expensive for just the Ute.

Mine were $155 incl fitting and balance for 235/45/17's

That was just from our local tyre store up here in Dargaville (Gas & Tyre Services). Most likely find a better deal if you look around.

oh sheeez if you were in Auckland i coulda hooked you up with decent 5mm tread tyres for CHEAP ! boss wants them gone, theyre like bridgestone and pirelli and a couple of good brands aswell...

i got some Achilles ATR sport 17s $99 each. decent enough tyre imo

but the ones on trade me are a lot more than what i payed

$200 for your size on TM, maybe hunt round for a bargain?

My new STi came with these and it makes me sad inside. If they're only $99 new then I guess they're a pretty good deal for their performance (except for the whole, they completely stop working when any moisture is anywhere near anything factor), but I would never ever ever ever dream of buying more when the ones I have run out

i got 2 brand new bridgestone MY01 (215, 40, R17 fitted, balanced, and car aligned for $385 in total, they didnt charge me freight either. All from a phone call, no special deal. And to be honest the pressure they run them here arent fantastic for maximum grip, (35-40psi at a guess) but they dont look like they've aged a day, plus feel good in the pouring rain we've been having recently, reduced hydroplane feel.

Remember these are 215 45 18's. Not that easy to get at all.

i konw Toyo does them in Proxes4's and t1Rs in that size. and is what i run

Yeah just spoke to the skidpad about it and she reckons when we up the road just dump the 45s and goto th35s or 40s...cos "I" said. :

I did say, on 35s youd have to sort your driving out. Lol..i got hung up on.

Do you guys get Maxxis tyres over in NZ?

I have a set on the XR8, they were 245 x 35 x 19 and have been surprisingly good. Decent tread, and are wearing well. And thats with 5.4L of V8 power going thru the rears! They hang on nicely in the corners too. And some of you know how I like to drive.....

They were the MA-Z1's I think. Directional.

They were around $235 AUS$ a tyre, but were significantly cheaper than the main brands, Bridgestone, Toyo etc.

Just a thought if they have them there.

k new plan.

buying second hand tyres for the front for the drive up then swapping all the tyres for all new 214 35 18s. Cheers for your help.

Oh and everyone said they only had Hankock in that 215 45 size but none in country.
