Hi everyone,

Just purchased me a 2004 GT B4 (BL5). If i could figure out how to input images i would its a mean ride!

gt.tiff

Now for the fun part, i have a nice pool of savings for this pet project however i dont know where to start so my question is?

What would you do first to this car?

Im looking for more power and acceleration or anything else you may think will be worth throwing some more cash at...

Look forward to any suggestions and idea!!

Ring Subtech in Penrose and get a downpipe for $395

Best bang for your buck you can get on these cars.

Get a decent air filter. Spend the rest on a service getting new oil esp rear diff, pollen filter etc.

You can follow my lead and put a TV and DVD player in the car ;D

downpipe and intercooler make huge difference to these cars

You need to find out what turbo is on it? there are some easy gains with turbo upgrade too :)

If you are even thinking about getting a better stereo, then get a faceplate while you have the cash. They are very $$ as some people on here have found. You can be lucky to find one on trademe but they are very rare.

If I got one of these years, it would be the FIRST thing I did. But then I do like my sounds and factory stuff just doesn't satisfy me.

Yeah.. they are fine if all you want to do is play CD's, but once you want to use iPods, iPhones, MP3, USB or any of these new technologies the kids these days like, then you're screwed.

That's what I meant about factory systems tend not to satisfy me. Only very newer cars include iPod integration.

I'm 99% sure you can get a genuine adaptor for Ipod , Infact I know you can and the aux input is located inside the centre console

Its a genuine kit - but doesnt fully control Ipod tho from memory

Ecu reflash eh?

I just bought an 04 bp5a gt wagon... Ive heard that a reflash for our fuel will make it last longer and maybe squeeze a bit more smooth power...

The yanks swear by a down pipe replacement to get smoother power...

Intercooler eh?... Top mount? Or front mount? I hate that dirty great intercooler stickingout the front... Its a bit like neons in my book...

I love a cruising wagon and the auto bp5 gt has to be the best...

ahhh your the lucky new owner of this car... i was watching it intently haha

If i was you i'd confirm what it has already (this car was listed with an aftermarket exhaust, confirm if it has had a downpipe upgrade before you buy a new one etc)

firstly i would do adjustables, mags and downpipe

then intake (remove resonator), intercooler (better top mount), fueling (if required?) and a reflash

What size injectors do these have and do they need a better fuel pump?

if you want to take your time, be patient and are well prepared to do a bit of reading, you can opensource tune yourself for the price of a cable.

Check out romraider. A few guys over here are using it.

As for fueling, I'd get a walbro 255lph pump. Its future proofing yourself.

Aftermarket pressure relief valves can increase your boost response.

I would be looking at getting hold of possibly a version 8 or version 9 sti top mount intercooler.Added cooling plus the sti badge under your bonnet

:)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
