HELP! ENGINE COVERED IN OIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So my mate txt me saying she left work to find oil all under her car, so she lifted the bonet to find the engine is just coated because the oil filler cap wasn't on. Her mum had put oil in the car sunday, so maybe she forgot to replace the cap. Though she did manage to drive to and from work yesterday aswell as to work today. so travelled a good 100km.

The car is stuck at her work now, how would we go about cleaning up the engine where is? she working in north shore but lives in whangaparaoa.

heaps of rags mate . other then that you need a hose + degreaser .

it must smell/smoke something chronic after being hot!

Make sure you put some more oil in too! i bet it lost alot!

Yeah i plan to go buy her a new filter and oil tomorrow and do a full change while im at it.

She didn't notice until after work so i was cold and wouldnt have been fuming/smelling.

Odd she didnt notice a smell in the morning though.

Ok so rags, degreaser and a hose. Just have to cover up the alternator and battery i assume?

You guys have the wash world things in NZ dont you? The ones over here (Aus) have the engine degreaser and high pressure hose etc. That would be the best way IMO.

I second that. Just because of the enviomental factor. Don't want oil going into the drain.
