Price Check Please - 2003 Legacy GT Wagon Manual

Hi all,

Heading overseas and need to sell my Wagon, problem is I don't really know what it's worth.

It's pretty much the manual version of this - http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/legacy/auction-395712057.htm. Standard 2003 turbo Legacy wagon. About 110km, white and in good condition with new WOF and registration.

What would be a good price to list on TM? Problem is there is basically no manuals in my year or that are under private sale. Need to sell it within a month or so.

It is a big punt, but if you are needing a quick sale, then are you willing to do a $1 reserve? That way you are pretty much guaranteed a sale, and you will get top dollar (as much as anyone is willing to spend).

The problem with selling anything on Trademe, is you either need to be the best option, or the cheapest option. More often that not, you won't be both.

Cheers for the input. I will consider it, that's a massive punt though, would probably prefer a standard negotiable price. Any ballpark ideas most welcome!

If you are wanting it sold quick I would say 12k man, its the first year of that shape and its auto.

You will probably get 14 eventually but 12k would get it sold within a couple days man,

If I owned it, I would put it up for 11k no reserve.

I saw a $1 reserve of this in a sedan shape, went for $10,750

To be honest I've never been that comofortable with any car auction. Given that with a car you need to see and drive it, I thought that may impact how many people are willing/able to actually bid (ie you might get 1 or 2 bidders only).

I brought my car online from a dealership, first time I ever saw it in person was when I was getting the Keys.

You would be surprised, some people only need to look at spec's (if they don't already know them) before buying a vehicle.

Depends on the condition, I just bought the GT-B Spec version and auto wagon of yours for $14k with a spare set of 18" mags.

Had done 109kms but mint as condition, was grade 4.5 when imported in November 2010.

Selling it under a month, that's the real problem really, hard to sell quickly and get a good price at the moment.

I found the dealer cars were crap as condition, smoky, seats ripped, rubbish really compared to the car I bought.

Cheers for that. That raises another question - aren't all the new shape 2003 onwards like mine GTB? I have never been sure and the registration doesn't say. Its got the Bilstein shocks

No theres a GT and a GTB model in the forth gen legacys. I think all GTs had bilsteins as stock though which confuses some people. Read the thread just below this named: GT vs GT B Spec has info about the differences between the two models.

Thanks for that, looks like it is likely to be a GT. It has the Bilstein shocks, momo wheel and metal pedals, but doesn't have the McInstosh stereo, leather seats or 18" wheels (I think the 17" ones on it are different from the factory ones anyway).

All the jdm gt's had bilsteins... Mine does... Not go for the usdm or aussie...
