front coilovers+rear strut+spring combo anyone??

hey guys i just bought me a rear set of Monroe struts which i will use with my STI springs on my JDM BG legacy. consequently, i got a good deal on two front HKS coilovers with camber plates and all that are meant to fit a GC8 STi. my question is, can i mix and match them into a neutral set up for the street?? coilovers in the front and standard Macpherson strut and springs for the rear i have done a bit of a search nobody seems to have done it..... what are the risks?? thanks.

you should never mix and match coil overs and standard struts on a standard car.

would be an insta wof fail id imagine and its just down right dangerous. the car could be very unpredictable

wow. thats de-motivative if theres a word. realy wanted the coilovers because for the price. what a steal!!! a little escape option here...what about a 22mm rear sway bar to equalize things abit??

no, match up the core suspension components - i.e the struts.

then you can fiddle with swaybars. What you are trying to do is just dumb - sorry.

i appreciate the price point argument - but do you seriously put that ahead of your own safety or others..? people die from doing dumb shit with suspension.

look at that v8 converted rex with the moved steering rack.. sad but the ppl got dead as it had crazy bump steer.

Sell the HKS's and the new monroe's with your sti springs and then it's probably not much more money to get for a matching set of coilovers

Def used matched suspension as they will have valving and springs rates to work with each other correctly.

i had lowering springs on Blisteins in the front and adjustables in the rear (set to soft to try get them as close as possible)

was a temp fix.

Handled/felt weird, front swayed more than rear. Wouldn't say it was dangerous tho
