i know a guy and il even tell you his name!!!!

its geoff nicholson from dyno power in birch ave tauranga.... he actually uses wrx sti pistons and bore sleeves in the early 1uz block and has made his own billet crank and custom big $$$$ rods and his 1uzwhich hapily pulls 10000rpm and makes around 450-500hp is in a sa22 rx7 which has a rather shallow engine bay but the good thing is you can modify things to make it fit.... the biggest prob is the sump and the intake manifold but toyota quads and a custom sump SHOULD be on the to do list. theese motors are brutally wide aswell. because of the quad cam arrangement they are nearly as wide as fords 5.4 quadcam

Wow my simple post got a bit out of hand but thanks for the contructive replies to some of you guys. Im still going ahead with this conversion. Yet to decide if ill stay with the auto and go supercharged with a GM471 or similar through the bonnet or go 5 speed manual with 8 throttles, altho i dont know if having 8 throttles will increase or decrease the power.

yea the guy that built that red rex did it in 2 weeks! not a bad effort but it was done very rough and he had a bit of trouble with gearboxes. as for the drivetrain falling out that is total shit. He had to move the front cross-member and steering rack back 50mm to get the motor in, which when going around the corner at the top of pots hill at +140k caused it to bumpsteer sending the new owner of 15mins into the paddock. I was talking to my certer and apparently a bit of shit went down with it being certed. A slight dodgy or gray area. If your going to do it, do it properly. good to see your doing plenty of r&d on it. good luck!

you will obviously be running a link or something to run throttles? so the individual throttles will make an impressive gain in torque up top as they will be short

i did this on my fxgt on a dyno. had ITBs on a 3 inch long manifold and had alot higher torque at 8200 as compared to the 5 inch manifold at the same revs....

search tuned intake runners on google i wrote a tech thing on 4age.net a while ago about it.... had pics and a video to help explain

Ive decided to fit a 1UZ into my mates 1995 subaru legacy wagon. I will build his car as a bit of a trial befor i do mine. Ive also spoken with a certifier regarding the red WRX that crashed. Apparently his steering rack was mounted lower which caused it to bumpsteer. That combined with going to fast probly caused him to crash. Ive i move the rack down i will move the whole crossmember down and therefor avoiding bumpsteer issues... fingers crossed.

or engine up maybe with a bonnet bulge or skimmed tappet covers/intake manifold

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
